for the geeks - and you know who you are
M&Ms feel the force.
For the first time in the company's 64-year history, M&M's Brand Candies is introducing a dark chocolate version of its famous candy — and just in time for the release of "Star Wars: Episode III, Revenge of the Sith," the sixth and final episode of the Star Wars saga.
The special edition "Darth Mix" features the following new colors: black, maroon, purple, dark blue and silver. The classic milk chocolate flavor is found in the "Jedi Mix" with its new colors: beige, cream, pastel green, gold and "light-saber blue" M&M's.

"I loved him as a good Christian man; I look at Johnny as a great Christian," Simpson told CNN. "I knew him as that. He was a great guy."
Ringing endorsement to get called a Christian by O.J. You'd think they could have found someone else for that one.

Sour grapes. You're just jealous because OJ's never called you a Christian. You need better clients.

I think he's bitter because OJ hasn't kicked his current illness. OJ and Zinc are both losers on that front.

Apparently Roger Ebert seconds that emotion. He also notes that of the Korean films he's seen, only one did not contain "extraordinary sadomasochism," and that motherfucker was called "The YMCA Baseball Club."

Stupid, desperate college kid finds bored comedian on AOL Instant Messenger, begs comedian to ghost-write a paper due the next day for her, hilarity ensues.
See more on the saga in subsequent posts at A Week of Kindness, and he promises to wrap up the story tomorrow.

http://news.com.com/TiVo+tests+pop-u...l?tag=nefd.top
how fucked up is this?
you invent a new electronic thing that most homes will want and are willing to pay a subscription fee for- you could make huge amounts of money just selling it on the benefits of it to consumers- what next?
buy a private jet?
No. get greedier-
Tivo will start having pop up ads-
- TiVo tests pop-up-style ads
Published: March 28, 2005, 5:17 PM PST
TiVo began testing interactive advertising tools during the weekend as it looks to appease companies wary of users' ability to skip over ads.
The company confirmed late Monday that it released the first in a series of advertising features to a random and limited number of subscribers to the digital-video recorder service. The first test feature--a tag--pops up on the screen when a viewer is fast-forwarding through an advertisement.
If viewers press the thumbs-up or select button during the half second the tag is displayed, they will be redirected to a menu that leads to more information about the advertised product. The tag takes up about 25 percent of the screen, according to the company. TiVo said it is working with only one advertiser, a movie studio, on the trial balloon.
and what do they mean "customers?" I'm their customer and I don't want ads. I wonder if anyone has recommended to Apple to plug ads to pop in-between songs on IPods?

Very. Just rent a plain old, regular DVR instead. It's like 10 bucks a month if you have comcast and you don't have to put down a couple hundred bucks on the thing.
Tivo fucking sucks.
(Oh, hi everyone. How are you?)

Saw it last night. It was pretty fucking good. Ebert sums it up pretty well in that review. The fact that the twists are somewhat predictable doesn't detract from the movie. What Ebert doesn't say is that the two actors did a tremendous job.

in memory of Penske-

As my parents age, I know I'll be faced with some tough challenges and choices, but I can only imagine how hard it must be to be a Kennedy and have to get Joan/Ted through their final years........
- Joan Kennedy Found in Street; Hospitalized
BOSTON — Joan Kennedy, the former wife of U.S. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, was hospitalized with a concussion and a broken shoulder early Tuesday morning after a passer-by found her lying in a Boston street, said her son, U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy.
Kennedy, 68, was taken to Tufts New England Medical Center at about 3 a.m. on Tuesday, said Patrick Kennedy, D-R.I.
"We're indebted to some anonymous pedestrian who found her and picked her up and got her help," Patrick Kennedy told the Boston Herald. "I'm enormously grateful for whoever it is out there who did that. She wouldn't be here in this hospital, recuperating, if that person hadn't called and gotten someone to come."
Patrick Kennedy was somber and visibly shaken at the hospital and said he was "very concerned" for the welfare of his mother, according to the newspaper.
Details of exactly what happened and how she ended up in the street were unclear. There was no police report on the incident. Joan Kennedy, who splits time between a home on Cape Cod and a Boston condominium, has struggled with alcoholism in the past.
"You want to make sure there is someone there for her all the time ... but at the same time you don't want to encroach on her privacy too much," Patrick Kennedy told the Herald. "When things like this happen, it makes you feel as though maybe you should have done more to make sure there is someone with her 24/7 and perhaps that might become necessary."
