You say this like it is a bad thing. I'm beginning to get the sense that someone is stuck back in the heady iceberg lettuce-revival days of the late 90s.

I think you're overly optimistic about the ability of most people (present company included) to let go of personal bias in such matters. Recognizing a fault in others doesn't mean one has overcome it in oneself.

Now here, for example, we have a clear example of someone's personal reaction to a something clouding their objective evaluation. I am superb at being passive aggressive. Should I ever direct passive aggression towards you, you'll recognize it from the burning sensation around the solar plexus.

More writing ont he wall is taht fewer FBers write in about the show than they used to. Is there anyone that anyone is totally fired up about anymore? This group is just so uncaptivating. It awas better a couple of weeks ago for some reason, even though many of the chicks werent as good.
Are you still watching?

I'm not overly optimistic. Most people I know don't talk in nothing but absolutes. In fact, my observation is based on personal experience.
Recognizing a fault in others...blah, blah, blah. You're not really saying anything.

Reality TV
I caught up on some reality shows last night (watched Monday's The Swan and RW/RR Challenge and last night's QEFTSG and Showbiz Moms and Dads). Anyone seen Shwbiz Moms and Dads? It is on Bravo right after Queer Eye. It follows 5 or 6 families that are involved in one form or another of show business. Some of the parents were only mildly crazy, but there is this one pageant mom who is so insane that she started ranting about how the little girl who won (5 year old) over her daughter didn't deserve anything good to happen to her, etc. right in front of her 4 year old "loser" daughter. One would hope that someday the woman will view this show and realize what a fucking whackjob she appears to be in it. I doubt she'll come to her senses before her daughter is irreparably scarred however. And, Sidd, I don't think that the cameras following her made her a complete loon, I think they might have even prevented her from whacking her kid at least once when she appeared to want to because the 4 year old was tired and didn't want to get up to make herself "pageant pretty".

...and you are the poster child of copy-cat wannabes. To wit, we read you and think "I'm old, fat, suburban and boring - but I'll try to post like Multo and SI and pretend I'm hot and cool"
So bring it. Game fucking on.

I find it tremendously sad that you consider posting on the FB valuable enough to consider it high stakes in a Stanley Cup bet.

The use of "loser" is oh so very late 90s.
The correct term for the Aughts is "looser". Get with the lingo dingo!

Would there be anything interesting at all to me saying "I'm not a fan of [insert personal taste choice here], but I understand why you'd like it" in response to others' posts? One of the - if not THE - sole benefits of this board is that it provides an outlet for the sort of commentary we're precluded from making durin our day to day lives. I cannot tell Tim at the watercooler that I think he dresses like a used car salesman or Mary in petty cash that her Beetle advertises lack of savvy in car buying. But those observations don't just leave my mind. They pop up here, and they create diversions for people to respond with sarcastic quips (PLF), venomous retorts (you), joinders (Paigow on the Mini issue) or factual rebuttals (Sunny). You seem to advocate a polite boring discourse, which is shocking, considering that you brandish one of the sharpest pens on the boards when your blood gets rolling...
Don't take my comment about your inconsistency as an insult. I think people who strive for consistency should be imprisoned. The very worst posters on these boards are the people who have nothing else to say but "Well, SD, you said exactly the opposite three weeks ago, so (harrumph harrumph harrumph)." Yes, I did think differently three weeks ago, and I'll probably think differently agin next week. I'll handle the cross exams in court. In this forum, I'm a fucking human, you drone.

But it is amusing. In fact, I think its the building block of the lion's share of modern comedy.
I'm not pretending to offer some life truths here. Like David Gilmour recently said when asked about the profound impact of Dark Side of the Moon, "Its all just pop music."
Nobody's saying anything. I trust you won't take it as an insult if I remind you that you've not uttered a single revelatory syllable on these boards since I've known you. But you have amused me and made me think from time to time. You didn't owe me more, nor would I be arrogant enough to suggest I was owed more.

That may be a little hard to get past.
In other related news, he claims that he can't remember, due to excessive consumption of tequila, some points of the evening where he made the request. I asked her if he's pretending that the request wasn't made, and she says that she can't see how he can get around it since he repeated himself over 30 times in the course of the evening.
BTW, if you guys ever meet my sister, I never told you about any of this...

MOM knows about the pee thing? Damn, you girls definitely have a TMI ppolicy where your parents are concerned.
