You know, I unsuccessfully lobbied for one of those places to sell me booze when I was on foot. Apparently New Mexico state law is very specific that you have to be in a vehicle in order to buy beer at a drive through liquor store.

Ahem, Gennie Screamers. Please.

fringey is refusing to come out and play. Something about being too busy kayaking. Great attempt to bait her out though, b 'n b!

I believe the Masshole (hey! I think that's the first time I've been able to work that soubriquet into a conversation -- yay me!) term is "the Packie".
(In case you're ever in the neighborhood....)
I am nothing if not helpful (and informative!!)

Didn't you just buy one and keep it handy?
One of the dorms I was in seemed to have one that had been passed down for several years. (I'm sure by "bought" they meant "never returned and deposit forfeited", but, either way, we were always ready to tap any keg that happened by)
[ETA] Good times, good times.

Definitely called quarter barrels. That's why we called the little can things pony kegs, because a keg (called a half barrel) and a quarter barrel were already named.
|
Okay. that explains it. from the less-beer-knowledgeable parts of the world, a keg was a keg and the little one was a half-keg or a pony keg, because if you started throwing in quarter-barrel you'd a) confuse the hell of people and b) sound like the worst party in town ("dude, swing by tonight--we're taping a quarter barrel--rock on!")

It was accidental.
For the record, Coors has no apostrophe. Stroh's, however, does.
Thus ends the beer/punctuation lesson.

Speaking of kayaking, I would like to point out that the 33rd Annual International Canoe Federation Flatwater Racing World Championships is being held at Lake Lanier as we speak. Having such an event in my very own backyard definitely elevates my coolness factor (as does having drunk Genesee beer from a plastic ball) but not to a PLiFfyesque level.
Carry on.

I can't even remember the Stroh's slogan!

spree: nothing alarming, just a funny story involving a member of the Stroh family.
