Whatever. [SPOILER ON FIRST EP:] Funny scenes:

When he and his brother find out that the guy he used to menace growing up was gay and they don't know how to react, so they just slowly back out of the room

The kickball flashback.

Its great when you get the hot cousin, not so great when you get that great aunt who’s lost fingers to the diabeetis.

So you like hand jobs, but not blow jobs?

God, you are complex.

*A buddy who's folks were in the clothing industry used this indistry term to describe a portly friend of ours once and its cracked me up ever since. I'm easily amused... He actually turned to our friend while we were in an open gym showwer and said 'Tom, you've got a problem body.' The dude nearly punched him for the comment. Good times.

Nah, that was just the more tasteful description... if she's missing digits, there's a stump or two somewhere else as well. By then, you pray the Knob Creek coma has set in...

But you must go through with it - tradition!

I know I'm a Rube, but...

I received this e-mail today saying I had won a lottery prize of one MEELYUN pounds sterling. Now, ordinarily I would delete it , the pressing of the deletion key to be accompanied by a derisive snort. However, in this instance, the e-mail came from this organization to which I did, in fact, submit my name a long time ago. I signed up for this daily lottery drawing years and years ago, and had forgotten all about it until today. I used to keep up with it a bit, and do a manual entry every day, but it got to be a little much, so I just did the automatic entry thing and forgot about it.

So, I get this official-looking e-mail asking me to submit some information (nothing obviously eyebrow-raising like my SSN or bank account number, just my e-mail address, home address and phone number) and to sign the form and submit it by e-mail or fax.

I'm wondering whether I should send it back.

”He seeks the spotlight, a charming personality trait at 21-6. It's not so adorable when your ERA is three full runs above your career mark and you have an ankle that requires rigorous rehabilitation, yet show up to spring camp, as one player said, ‘looking like Santa Claus.’ … During the last homestand, one player asked, ‘Since when did he anoint himself lord and master of the 617 area code?’ A visiting player wanted to know if it is true that Schilling actually calls in to talk radio shows and lurks on the Internet to make his points (yes, it is). One manager listens intently that Schilling is immune because he delivered the Big Prize.

‘I sort of disagree with that,’ the manager said. ‘Schilling was big, especially psychologically, but to me the difference in that team last year was Keith Foulke. Foulke made it hard to come back against those guys. And he hasn't been spared a thing.’"

The above quote was taken from BostonDirtDogs.com.

Finally, someone in Boston is calling Schilling on all his bullshit. Of course the anonymous player will be found out and publicly hanged (and I agree he shouldn't be airing his complaints in the press) for it. But Jesus. Schilling gets more love than anyone in Red Sox history and Arroyo, Lowe, Ortiz and Foulke all did more for that team in the playoffs last year. But they did it without bloody socks, so I guess it doesn't count as much.

TM

ETA: I guess it's okay to be a little bitch about your teammates once they're gone, but when you're still on the same team, it's not?

"Still, added Schilling, it was difficult to ignore Martinez's absence in Yankee Stadium for Game 6 of the ALCS. Martinez stayed behind in Boston, ostensibly to work on his own in preparation for a possible appearance in Game 7.

'We were in the middle of the greatest eight-game run in the history of baseball and he wasn't there,' Schilling said. 'What does that tell your teammates? But that's just the way it was.'"

What a fucked up thing to say. Whether that instance looked like Pedro was being selfish or not, he gave the Red Sox a great career. Schilling should have nothing but good things to say about him. What a self-centered, self-important piece of shit.

Career-wise, Schilling can't hold Pedro's jock. Pedro was, over a span of a few years, one of the top 3 most dominating pitchers to ever play.

I don't want to hear anything about how weird Texans are from New Yorkers for awhile.

I agree. Curt can beat the Yankees, but Pedro was (and is) a much better pitcher.

how funny is this?

Johnny Damon talking about management waiting to sign him: "I know it could be [my last days with the Red Sox]; I don't want it to be. We'll just have to see about winning these last seven games, and get back to the playoffs and win the World Series and then I can write any ticket I want to write... They even told me to buy a home this offseason and I did. Now I'm kind of torn in between whether or not to put the house on the market, because I bought more than my means because they said I was going to be here for a long time."

Ha! Motherfucker, what exactly did you do? But MC Hammer's house in Oakland overlooking the ghetto and have it moved, piece by piece, to Boston? I guess it's back to the cave, man.

It's an improvement on the "Now entering the South Bronx, HOLY SHIT!" sign.
