The Case Against Rock and Roll Church

Oakland had/has several.
Catholic churches are on a parish system. If the parish is in a black neighborhood, odds are that the church has a majority black parishionership.
Surprising religious fact of the day: there are more black Catholics in America than Black Muslims. If blacks were proportionally represented in the ranks of Catholic bishops, public perception would be a lot different.
Moving from the sacred to the profane, the real effect of the LA strip club ruling will be to shift aggressive strip club behavior from the confines of the City of Los Angeles to clubs east and south of Los Angeles proper. Str8 can probably verify that this trend has been in place several years. I predict that some clubs in the Valley will close/relocate because of the lapdancing ban.
Edited to add:
E/O, I know that Catholic churches in predominantly black areas aren't black churches per se, but the services and atmoshpere are different than at a Catholic church in a white suburb. FWIW, the same goes for many black protestant churches. The point is, the services are different.

The latest scientific studies show that they're wired different.

Fascinating, since I was talking about religious history.
Thurgreed and I were just discussing what your "joke" could possibly have been. My assumption was that you were basically calling me a wigger. He really thought your joke was more sophisticated than that.

You lose. TM wins. And that's cute how you try and accuse me of racism.

I don't think the assumption should be that she knew everything. I just assumed she knew more than you.
Either way, I don't think it should take a black person to point out a misconception about black people. I get just as pissed when people make mistakes about people of any race. This is one of the reasons why attitudes don't change as fast as they should. The "If you ain't insulting me, it ain't my problem" attitude should have been buried long ago. That attitude combined with knee-jerk "don't be so PC" responses to any type of criticism relating to race is the most frustrating thing to address in otherwise intelligent people today.

So true. Once I unwittingly saw a group of out-of-shape balding pasty naked beer-sucking men recreating the "American Bandstand" of their disco youth, it's a wonder I ever consented to sleep with any man anywhere anytime ever.

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I ask you: Wasn't this my point? If we could all just be required to keep our clothes, we could continue to enjoy TITS just as much as we do now. Thank you, and good night.

See that's the problem with the all topless all the time deal. Most men picture it in their mind as all Sports Illustrated swimsuit models topless all the time. In reality, the people who want to go topless are the people you don't really want to see. The people you really want to see get to charge you for looking. They're called strippers. See, it's an economy thing. If everyone was topless all the time, what would strippers do?
On the other hand, hot men topless is what soap operas are for.

Hey, I owe a lot to DEBATE camp. I got to learn about the world, friendships, love, dreams, and family. I got to DEBATE abortion against those Hahvarhd snobs before the U.S. Supreme Court in the climactic scene. Then, I got to bang Jami Gertz, upon whom I'd been crushing since "Square Pegs." What did you do the summer between junior and senior year, hmmmm?
And I am not short.

My comment was not related to her knowledge, but rather her tone. And the same tone has manifested itself in the past.
