I don't know. I would say the frame of reference is important (and only potentially bogus here because there are no other prominent female drivers to my knowledge). But we make judgments of hotness according to the relevant environment all the time.

In descending order, I would argue that there are different standards for hot models, hot pin up girls, hot movie actresses, hot tv actresses, hot people you see on the street, hot acquaintances, hot coworkers and hot friends.

I guess I am arguing for a sliding scale of hotness based on expectations and familiarity. Think about it, is the friend that you have always secretly had a crush on not just as hot to you, although in a different frame of reference, as your favorite movie actress (cue Halle pics)? Isn't the woman you are trying to hook up with at the end of the night in a bar just as hot as your favorite lingerie model with the relevant frame of reference (the alcohol helps, of course)?

You seem to be being she isn't hot enough to be a pin up girl. That may be, but she is still a hot athlete.

And, to raise a truly bogus standard, I would totally do her, even though I could raise some mild criticism of even the FHM pic.
