I don't circle the photos.
If you think I'm crazy, take a look at the little brunette with the greyish hazel eyes and the naughty grin. She's spectacular. And I'm partial to grey eyes because I have them myself and wish to pass on this strange gene to my children, so perhaps my fixation is subconsciously genetic.

I now picture you as a Weimaraner (in a slim fitting shirt and pants, of course).

They'll hate you for having them when you didn't want them in the first place. But they'll love you for the grey eyes. Sounds like a fair trade.

The baltspouse is fond of baseball players, and Orioles in particular, most especially - Jeff Conine
- Brady Anderson (yeah right - I have a better chance with Brady)
- BJ Surhoff, and
- (most oddly, but also most fervently) Geranamo Gil
Oh, and Viggo Mortensen

Are you talking about Giselle Bundschen? Because she's the hottest thing VS has going for it since Heidi Klum (rhymes with Boom Boom) went blonde.

You mean Gilberto Gil, who I saw on a triple bill with Bob Dylan and Tears for Fears in Brazil a long time ago?

It has become painfully clear that Sebby and Paigow should not marry and don't have much in common after all.

International Secondment
I'm not sure that's the right term, but, basically, a few of my clients have recently suggested that one or some of the mid-level associates in my department work in Europe for 3 - 6 months on a major transaction at one of their locations. Those who do it will still be associates of the firm, but will be at the client site for the entire time. This might differ from traditional secondment in that we would not be employees of the client and would still be working under the existing client agreement.
My firm does not have a hard and fast policy on this kind of arrangement, and negotiates each relationship individually, with input from the attorneys involved. My firm is suggesting that expenses would be handled like normal travel, i.e. all actual expenses would be reimbursed, but it sounds like the traditional exclusions would apply. That is, I couldn't charge to the client those costs that would be personal to me but higher at my location, like personal calls, dry cleaning, haircuts, etc. I guess that's fine, but I would think that they should at least give me a free (to me) international cell phone. And I'm sure that I could not get them to pay for recreational travel or EPL tickets.
Anyway, what is the custom for handling this in Biglaw, or how have others heard of it being handled? How often can I reasonably expect to fly back to the States on the client's dime? Is it reasonable to assume that it should be far more often appropriate if I agree to fly economy instead of the customary (for international travel) business class? Is it reasonable to expect they pick up certain incidental expenses of mine, like costs of international mail forwarding and stuff like that? I suppose that I would save money as well, but the idea, for example, of having to deal with health care and similar issues in Europe sounds expensive to me.
Also, can I reasonably expect to get credit for at least 8 hours per U.S. business day, even if the work isn't there?
I assure you that this is not a "my practice is more exotic that yours." I think the whole thing is stupid, and it seems to me a collosal waste of money on the part of the client.

This won't help paigow
(sorry)
I am assembling my trivia game (Trivial Pursuit, Jeopardy, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, etc) master team from fb participants and here is who I have so far --
Entertainment - me (well, my team has to have me on it after all); [alternate - str8]
Literature - Ty (named after a literary character, after all); [alternate - Sidd Finch]
History - taxwonk (look to the old guy); [alternate - bilmore (ditto)]
Etiquette - Atticus (edged BRC on religion trivia, which I folded into this category for a reason known only to me); [alternate - BRC]
Sports - TM (talks a good game); [alternate - Coltrane]
Animals - flinty (of course); [alternate - robust puppy]
Music - evenodds (edged out PLF by discussing bands I have actually heard of); [alternate - PLF]
Science - Hank (hey, he's an IP nerd); [alternate - um, does anyone else know anything about science?]
Geography - fringey (has never confused NYC with upstate or Houston with Dallas); [alternate - paigow (ringer for all Connecticut questions)]
General (includes all other questions) - Shape Shifter (duh)

Yay!
I also heard that Ben offered to cast Ms. Streisand as his mother after Babs complained about not being offered roles.
Edited to say to NCS: I confess to being a science nerd. I'll leave my qualifications at that, but trust me.
