No doubt the signing of Parage settling the dispute over the sovereignty of Andora (primary medieval economic product: sheep) helped stabilize the market for wool in Spain considerably. While in modern times the involvement of the church in political affairs is frowned upon, its part in brokering the deal - allowing both France and Spain to concentrate on other threats to their other borders.
Frankly, however, the French should have held out for full control - the Spanish were having serious problems on their southern borders still with the Moors, and would have caved.
