Summer fashion question.

You know I love you fringey, even if you do not love me in return...
NYC is nasty in summer. It is why most try to escape to a summer house or share in the summertime, otherwise you'd go nuts. We're too poor for a summer house but we live in the sticks so poor man's summer house.

2. Once at a Benihana's (my kids liked it- please do not remove my Japanese food cred) the table next to us was full of Lion's linemen. They were all drinking umbrella drinks, which is pretty hard to do and not seem at lease a little gay- but they didn't seem gay at all. I even made the excuse for them that they were probably at training camp. But when the season started it became clear that they did suck.

No. It's very pale. Requires proper lighting.

I was soaked most days, but was dry by the time I passed through 5 buildings to good old Crystal Plaza 4.
Now NY is very humid in August, but not as bad as DC- BUT NY has that gritty dirty quality to the air in the summer which makes it as unpleasant, if not more so, than DC.

Houston is also built on a swamp. Washington is close though. Olympia, Washington seems to win this little contest, though I think their lower average temperature should kick them out.

I like Benihana. I would never mistake it for Japanese food, though. This is along the same line as enjoying a pulled pork sandwich at some local and chain restaurants. They're good, but I would never mistake them for good North Carolina barbecue.

Olympia sucks for reasons that have nothing to do with humidity.

Wasn't there a lawsuit thrown out from NY or NJ re: some guy wrenched his neck and back out trying to duck a flying flaming shrimp from Benihana or some hibachi place?

flying shrimp of death
It is like going to Momofuku noodle house and thinking that is real ramen with its Berkshire Pork. tasty but not authentic.

Bogus numbers. Lower temps elevates the relative humidity. And they boost their average with dreary wintertime humidity, not stifling summer humidity, and lots of humidity in the morning.
Dew point would be a better measure. Or, if you're a snob, RealFeel temperatures.

I'm willing to call it a tie between DC and Houston for absolutely most miserable summertime experience. 97 degrees with 95% humidity feels like crap in both places. You're both winners!!
