I hate it when people use "mo" for "more." Just lazy.
It's More Williams, or More Sizlak. Got it?

Sphincter. And it doesn't matter whether it's pronounced right or wrong. The word just annoys me.

No, but the more press the better, because it will force the FCC to continue with its censorship program. That is, rather than back off the fines for Ms. Nasty's wardrobe malfunction, they'll pursue it to the point that Red Lion is overruled and the FCC is constitutionally stripped of authority to mandate or restrict broadcast content.
Howard Stern won't kill the FCC, the FCC will.
|
So (should this be moved to the PB?), is there any merit to the theory that networks are speeding the FCC's suicide along by purposely being controversial? B/c this is a war the FCC cannot win.

I imagine this can't be said without noting to yourself the glaring irony.

From that list, I learned I had been mispronouncing a word (not the only one for sure) my whole life. I didn't know "forte" was pronounced fort and not FOR-tay; now I have to consciously remember to say it the right way.
Another peeve is ask pronounced ax. And not in the pronounciation field, but "borrow" used in place of "lend," as in "Will you borrow me a dollar?"
|
It is pronounced "for- tay, it being an Italian word meaning strength. The author of the list apparently needs some skooling.

If he cared, wouldn't he have put a comma after "Oh"?

Perhaps he was talking about the Olde Forte down the road from Ye Olde Curiousity Shoppe and Ye Jolly Goode Inn.
