I soak 1.5 tbls in about 1.5 cups of water for 10 minutes. It forms a tasteless gel.

Well that was a compelling idea if I ever heard one. You should do marketing for the chia seed board.
Wonk's idea of hiding them in a smoothie sounds much better.

Use a recipe for a low cal smoothie or sneak those seeds in your food some other way.
Unless part of your weight loss program is purging and the disgusting texture of the seed mucus helps with that. ![Big Grin](http://www.lawtalkers.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I think he said no-carb, so presumably the fruit is out.
Not that this makes any sense to me.

Yeah. I was trying to avoid having to tell you what a bad idea the no-carb thing is.

sushi
How come whenever I get sushi takeout, assuming I have an order that's appropriate for one person, moi, they give ginger in an amount the size of half of a scoop of ice cream. are people supposed to eat that much ginger with an order of 6 peices and 6 rolls? Am I missing something?

The way it was explained to me is that lots of ginger is good for my "man part" to make it very "strong" and "potent."

Grains
Does anyone have advice and/or recipes for barley, barley flour and wheat berries? I have been getting these from a winter farm share. I had a bad digestive reaction to wheat berries the one time I made a winter root vegetable salad with some, but I may not have cooked the wheat berries for long enough. I have never cooked with barley before but am aware that soup seems like a place where it frequently appears.
