I was going to respond to this post to go for number two, but you've made it impossible.

No kidding--NFL rule kind of screwed him, although he brought most of it on himself. Well, maybe all of it. Would have thought he could have made the money he earned at OSU last a bit longer.

At least Mike Williams didn't get completely screwed in the end, other than for the fact he got drafted by the Lions, a WR black hole.

Yes. Last time I checked, only Detmer ever played for the boys in green. (sigh)

Top 100 baby names for 2005. I am happy to report the Brazenette's first and middle names are absent from the list.

As are my first and middle names, for the record.

eta: oh my stars... Trinity, Destiny and Brooklyn all make the list. We are birthing a generation of strippers.

So then we made out and I got brown spray-on goo all over her.
You should post more often.

plus the beer is higher alcohol content.....

I love Canada. RT, a similar program of managing his drinks could really get Penske back to where we could let him post again...just a thought.

http://www.cbc.ca/ottawa/story/ot-shelters20060103.html
  • Ottawa program offers drinks to homeless alcoholics

Shelters across the country are taking a closer look at an Ottawa shelter that gives drinks to homeless alcoholics after a study suggested the program is having a positive impact.

Dr. Tiina Podymow envisioned the program after volunteering with chronic alcoholics, including some who drank upwards of 40 drinks per day of alcohol and liquids such as mouthwash.

Participants in the Managed Alcohol Project were given permanent beds in a shelter and, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m, allowed to have one drink of homemade wine or beer per hour, carefully measured out at a dispensary counter.

A study published in this week's edition of the Canadian Medical Association Journal is raising interest in the program. Completed by the shelter's medical director, Dr. Jeff Turnbull, the study examined the program's impact on 17 residents. Most had been alcoholics for 35 years before starting the program.

    Turnbull's study found:

Participants who typically had 46 drinks a day before the program dropped to about eight drinks a day during the program.

The number of visits to the emergency room fell by 36 per cent.

The number of encounters with police was essentially halved.

And I bet the number of later night hillary photoshops might drop.

The next generation of strippers will likely go by names such as Jane, Mary and Elizabeth.

ETA: My older boy's middle name makes the list, as do both the first and middle names of my younger boy. If my next one is a boy, his name is on the list too!!! I'm so common. If the next one is a girl, however, she's not making the list.

The reason you've never heard of number 9 is that it is a misspelling of Michaela (a female form of Michael). I have a friend (called Greta -- good name), who has an older sister who is in her 50's (i.e., before it was uber-popular) called Micaela.

The italicized names are a riot, and the bold ones are unbelieveable. Who would ever name someone one of those things?
