What if she committed suicide.
I assume there was negligence. If there is one test they should be sure that they give you the right result it should be this one.

From the article: "We were just so grateful. We didn't get mad until nobody cared," Johnson said.
ETA: And this post shows exactly why you shouldn't be anywhere near healthcare if you think that there is ANY test in the world, including a HIV tests, where false-positives don't come up. Even 99.9 percent accurate tests will have a huge number of false positives in a large population. And I'm sorry to tell you that there are very, very few 99.9 percent accurate tests in the world.

I always love it when people try and arm chair quarterback the Bush's administration political maneuvering. Politically this administration has been brilliant. They have had the most disciplined and politically adept administration in my memory. He has nothing to gain by meeting with hear. It will draw huge media attention, and if she creates a scene, it will cause a media sensation that will last for months.
He is doing exactly what he should be doing. I was at first sckeptical of Bush's not admitting any mistakes during the 2004 campaign. But after I thought about it I realized doing so would not do any good. It would not change any voter's minds. And he won pretty handily so it looks like that was the right decision.

I was talking about negligence. If was not caused by human error than I disagree. But if it was caused by human error I agree. And I have had plenty of experience in hospitals of people being less than careful with really important information. Lots of experience. Emergency rooms in hospitals should be the most alert and serious places on the planet. Someone that is not acting concerned and attentive should be no where near an emergency room. I have been in too many emergency rooms where people are in a lot of pain and hospital staff are sitting around talking to eachother about their last vacation.
I once took my mon to the emergency room and I finally dragged a doctor (physically) into my most room to give my mother a pain shot. He told me to wait while he was discussing a personal issue with some of the staff. Next thing he knew he was being pulled by the hair into my mothers room.

Damn, Spanky, I had fallen for your charms. Had my wallet open and everything, and you had to say something like that.
Reagan in 1984 -- handily.
Clinton in 1996 -- handily, IIRC.
Bush in 2004? A win, yes, but he came within a single state of losing to a man whose only virtue over a head of cabbage was a pulse.

In this particular case, it looks like there was negligence on the part of the laboratory and possibly the hospital. If it weren't for the statmenet that everything was ok until there wasn't enough groveling, I'd agree with you.

I'm not going to argue who has more experience with the healthcare system and the things that can go wrong therein.

That's why I have a question mark next to "mistaken belief".

Bush should have lost that election. All the traditional signs were against him. There was a much higher turnout than expected, which almost always favors the Democrats, and there was very few scenarios where he could have won the electoral college. With the two biggest states of the electoral college automatically in the other camp it is a big climb to 270. But even with a 50/50 nation he won a pretty significant popular vote margin.
I was completely surprized that he won until I saw some post election focus groups. When I saw those interviews I realized his message and tactics worked like a charm.
He should have been crushed in 2000 and beaten in 2004. But he out politicked his opponents. Most election are decided before they start. These two should have gone the other way but brilliant campaigning turned defeat into victory.
You can critisize Bush's policies but I think only a fool would argue that their political strategy has been screwed up.

I am against tort reform.

He got more popular votes than any other presidential candidate in history. Clinton didn't even get a majority in 96. Get de-toxxed from the Kool-ade.

Don't worry. I am going to decline the board position. Someone said, I am not sure who, that (or something along the lines that): the first step towards wisdom is understanding how totally ignorant you are (or maybe it was your limitations). Either way the point is the same.
