Wait, I thought he got it. Wouldn't the double entendre be the only reason to be insulted on Ms. Hewitt's behalf? What's wrong with a nice C?

You know, that crossed my mind but there was some C mention so I figured there was not double entendre, just plain old fashioned bad judgment. Plus you can't even make a joking reference that questions her greatness without the potential beyotch slap threat.

What indeed. JLH doesn't make me angry. A God that would place such ginormous breasts on that tiny little frame is what really pisses me off. Was this baby jesus's doing or was it the big guy who made that blunder?

REK can phone it in sometimes, but when he's on there are few things better. I really like the single "For Love I Did It All" off his new record, so I'd be tempted to see him were I not going to be in France. Hard to knock the Lucinda Williams pick, though.

I have enjoyed the Walkmen but no effing way I see them over the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
Drive-by-Truckers over Widespread is fine, but I've seen a lot of the former and havent seen the latter in years
I'd definitely see Bob Mould over the Decemberists

Definintely not Lucinda over Robert Earl. Lucinda never really deserved her reputation. Her music is bland, her lyrics are pretty trite, and her performances have been, on the whole, uninspired (in the sense of "wobbling-drunk and has to read her own lyrics off a stand next to her"). Robert Earl, on the other hand, is fun, tells stories, and seems like he's having a good time. And there's a decent chance that Lyle Lovett will drop by to join him for "The Front Porch Song."
Get up early Day One to catch Split Lip Rayfield: punk-bluegrass. The bass player's instrument is made from the gas tank of an old pickup truck.
She's actually favoring Oasis over Widespread, but I'd back you on the Panic. Unless you happen to fall into a hole and wind up back in 1998, in which case Oasis is the better bet.
I'd go see Dirty Dozen just because they're all homeless now and they deserve the support. (The fact that they put on a fun show doesn't even enter into it.) Ditto on Kermit Ruffins, but I know how you folks love your Wilco.
Blues Traveler? No way. You're heard one deedley-deedley-deedley harmonica solo, you've heard them all. Unless you fall in a hole and wind up back in 1988...
I'd like to back you on Bob Mould, but he's a long, long way from "Workbook," and even farther from the glory days of Husker Du. He should've stuck with writing storylines for the WWF.
ETA: my first STP. Yay!

I like Wilco, DBTs are great live and Death Cab will now be overrun with 16 year old girls, so those are the down sides to them. We have seen them all enough to not be too concerned.

The Death Cab issue was resolved by seeing them at Lollapalooza. Lots of 16 year old girls. If Franz Ferdinand were up against anyone else, they'd be non-negotiable, but Wilco will always beat them out.

I have a fondness for BT which dates back to about 1986, when I was seeing them in bars. That being said, you probably have a legitimate point

I'm told that his recent disc is a return to the "Black Sheets" sound - so there is hope.

Mixed in, I'm told, with a dollap (or maybe it was a smidgen) of his recent techno infatuation. But I hear he's playing stuff from his entire catalogue live (including Husker Du and Sugar stuff), so I wouldn't miss it if I was there. It would be kinda weird seing Mould outdoors. Dude played crazy loud in clubs; I think I owe part of my hearing loss to Mould shows.

is this kind of comment, and Penske's newfound spelling/typo problem an attempt to create sock identity confusion?

Probably true, especially after that kick ass post-show at Stubb's last year.

That is one horrible picture. I can't decide what part is the worst. Here are the options:
1. The awful make-up job. Whoever did this should be fired. Are they using my Bonnie Bell kit from 1982?
2. The bangs. I don't even care to elaborate here.
3. The fact that her neck in that photo is as long as her head. This does not help dispute the horsey face critics at all.
4. The visible collar bones. Somebody give the girl a slice of pizza. Stat.
5. The nose. Weird angle or something makes her nose look not good. Bulby?
I have seen JLH look good, but this photo does her no favors at all. The photographer must hate her almost as much as the EW photographer who put the all-in-white photo of Scarlett Johannsen on the cover hates her. I don't know how to spell SJ's name, but I'm not letting that stop me from posting this.
ETA: However, I am returning to edit in hyphens in the hope that they will please my dear dtb.
