Bill is deeply flawed, but I still think he was a sincere, thoughtful and serious President. We are all sinners, and the things folks (including his biggest detractors) write about here suggest that their greatest qualms about "doing" Monica would have had more to do with whether she was in a "fuckable" category or not.

Good point. In fact this issue came today with my cubicle mate, Mario, who was discussing the Illinois Senate race. I am not sure if all of all y'all have heard but apparently the Chicago Trib is reporting thatg Republican U.S. Senate nominee Jack Ryan's ex-wife, TV actress Jeri Ryan, accused him of taking her to sex clubs in New York and Paris, where he tried to coerce her into having sex with him in front of strangers, according to records released Monday from the couple's California divorce file.

The political impact of the revelations on Jack Ryan's candidacy will play out over the next several days.

So anyhoo, Mario was castigating the poor horny bastard, and I told him "Since when did private predilections of a sexualized nature become political issues? How on god's green earth does this influence a candidate's (or office holder's) ability to do his or her job?? How, I ask bilmore, how??

Because if you're married to Jeri Ryan, and you have to take her to a sex club to get turned on, there is something seriously wrong with you.

For example, you may not in fact be a "person", but rather some form of mobile vegetative matter, or even an inert polymer. In that case, I think the voters have a right to know.

Actually more seriously, per my quote, Hillary said if what later became known as true was true than we should be concerned. I was, at that time, but it never really seemed like they, the Clintons, and their apologists in the liberal media, acknowledged the validity of that concern when the truth came to bear. Why in the hypothetical was it a matter of concern, but in reality its something to be sloughed off with the tag lines "nothing to see here more along" "just sex" blah blah blah.

Either, from a "we the people" perspective, it was something to be concerned about or it wasn't. The world's self-proclaimed smartest woman and co-president said it was a matter of concern. And yet Clinton writes in his book that it was, at least in part, a product of Starr's vendetta and the impeachment was unwarranted. When are we going to get a sincere apology for his urination on our the constitutional office of the Presidency? When ty, when?

Of course if W did something like this there wouldn't be any concern.
