I don't know... I'm thinking more "Its the End of the World (As We Know It)." PLF did have REM on his top five...
But then again, Flower has often expressed his affinity for "Captain Jack." I think he said it captured his teen angst like no other song. I agree. How many of us have lost fathers in swimming pools? The hurt Joel emotes... its just so universally recognizable. Its like he feels me.

He does feel you. He feels all of us.
(Lately, it looks as though he may be trying to eat all of us.)

He's wrapped something like six cars around trees drunk all over the Hamptons in the past three years. Christie Brinkley must've been one hell of a fuck.

SNL did a skit about that a few years ago. Some teenage starlet was the guest host (it may have been Lindsay Lohan?) and the fat guy (Horatio Sanz -- who is fucking hilarious) played Billy Joel.
Billy picked up Lindsay and her friends to take them home from a party or something, and proceeded to have multiple car accidents, etc. on the way. It was pretty good.
ETA: speaking of Christie Brinkley, I saw her on some fitness infomercial not too long ago, and she's had some NASTY plastic surgery -- she got the cat-eye look (with the outer corners of her eyes pointing up), which looks disgusting. I only hope it was unintentional -- who would think that looks good?

current favorite song non-poll
Jesus Etc. by Wilco. Became a favorite when I heard it live in late April. I can't stop playing it. The closest song to it in the "top 25 played" list on my ipod hasn't been played even half as many times. I love this song.
Such Great Heights by the Postal Service. This isn't a song that I ordinarily would like, but for some reason, it just makes me happy. Became a favorite when my ipod picked it out randomly on a plane from San Francisco to Houston last fourth of July weekend. I had to play it over and over again because I liked it so much. I smile every time I hear it.
This post was for information purposes only and is not intended to be a poll. You are under no obligation to respond with your current favorite song and are, in fact, actively discouraged from participating in yet another banal music poll that makes Less and Flower roll their collective eyes and wonder why they keep coming back here.

Heaven forbid. I was merely giving props to the avatar. NB knows I would never even try to take his love. You, sir, are a cad.

I recall that skit. It wasn't that long ago. I think it was just last year. Billy's been bending Benzes all over the L.I.E. for a long time.
Christie Brinkley was the first indicator I'd hit puberty. I recall seeing her in some swimsuit ad way back when and thinking, "Hmmm, I have to do something with something that looks like her, and fast."

Whatever. "Red Rain" by White Stripes. I might as well have it on repeat.

Although, as a general matter, fat people are quite funny, you should be ashamed of yourself for saying this.

Speaking of NASTY plastic surgery, proceed to this link at your peril:
