HP all the way. Easy software, reliable, photo-quality prints (on good paper.)

AGIB is a solid record, from the Neil Young song at the start through the Late Greats.

I don't know why I wrote AGOB instead of AGIB...too much Arrested Development on my mind.

I agree that it's a solid record, but it's only just decent when compared to YHF, which was a spectacular album. "Being There" and the Billy Bragg collaboration are also very, very good.

Why would I do that? Even a cheap pair of Sennheisers does better than that.

That sock always confused me. Is there a story behind its genesis? The only sock more confusing was Grey Pubes.

Using UE10's on an ipod would be a waste. Most of the userd on headfi.org use them with portable amps or with stationary headphone amp equipment. I think that the most I would ever spend on portable headphones is in the neighborhood of $500. I'm not enough of an audiophile to go beyond that, and I have enough tinitus from a youth spent at shows standing in front of speakers so as to not hear the difference.

It might make sense if you ripped everything as wav files.

Apropos of this, has anyone seen Avenue Q? Is it any good? I love the songs I've heard -- "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist" and "The Internet is For Porn."

There are some battery life issues, but I've heard that the newer models addressed that. I bought mine almost 2 years ago.

ROI with headphones canalphones is significantly higher than with loudspeakers. I would venture a guess that I would have to spend at least $1000 on a pair of louspeakers to the the SQ I get from my $120 Shure e3c canalphones.
NFH, have you ever tried the e3c's on a souce better than your ipod? If not, you're missing out.
Also, try the etymotic tri-flange tips, which fit the Shure's just fine (and work better than Shure's own tri-flanges). They seal and isolate better than any of the Shure tips, and (at least for me) they are very comfortable. The foamies have horrible SQ, in my view, rolling off the highs completely.

Has anyone here ever had their iPod skip several songs on the playlist without your wanting it to? Mine has been doing that -- I'll turn it on, and it will skip about a dozen songs are so and land on something way down the playlist. Then when that song finishes it will do it again, and will ignore my attempts to stop or skip. Reloading my music from Itunes will fix the problem, but only temporarily. I went to the apple store and the genius bar was booked solid, and I haven't had time to return, but the Apple guy theorized that it might be a communication problem between my PC, iTunes, and the iPod. This might be apple propaganda, but it also makes some sense to me.
Feel free to respond by PM or on the tech board. I'm still under warranty so I might just demand a new one.
(And Burger, please don't tell me to buy a Mac. I know I should have, but my budget won't allow for it at the moment.)
|
This has happened but only with the Green Day CD. I haven't tried to reload the music to see if that changes anything.

Okay, people
I recognize that I'm partially to blame, but this has gotten out of hand. Please take all the tech talk to Spanky's "Referral" thread on the SF/SV Board.
Thank you.
