Oh, and be sure to capitalize every K.

Are you a good writer? Are you the guy who ends up writing the group's persuasive letters, or the reports to the clients? Then, submit something more free-form that showcases those talents - something with excellent word usage and grammer, which exhibits the ability to clearly communicate complex thoughts cleanly. Don't use a pleading, or a strictly legal-argument-based doc - too confining, too stilted, to show what you want shown.
If you are weaker, or simply more of a technical writer, then submit your best SJ brief, or legal analysis memo.
And I wasn't joking about the typos.

Thank you for leading by example.

Eu tenho as coisas a dizer sobre a mãe de Slave's em diversas línguas diferentes.

don't listen to them Coltrane. You do litigation I thought. you're late 20's so you've been out for at least 4 yrs. If so DO NOT GIVE WRITING SAMPLES unless asked. They can only hurt. The people hiring you will be arrogant pricks who probably won't look at your samples- if they do they will only see stuff they find negative. Someone said articles- list them but only provide if asked.
You will need to sell yourself by gab to get the job. The paper only distracts, or screws you.

And in your interview, be sure to demonstrate such unassailable logic as this.

A. I'm assuming he's already been asked.
B. If he's been asked, lack of a submission signals that he's hiding his poor writing.
C. Even arrogant pricks read them. Of course they're just looking for something - anything - negative. It's a natural impulse amongst the idiot set. But, you're asking Arrogant Prick for a job. Don't let them find anything negative.
D. There is no "D".

Maybe you're right, but here's the problem- Coltrane can barely string a coherent thought together for a few sentences, then he drifts. Shit, that's probably why he needs a new job. his only available answer is to stonewall. unless, maybe someone else can email him something to use?

Many of the arrogant pricks I know are also lazy. In this same vein, does anyone ever call references?

Well, it ain't funny
In certain contexts I'm all for saying the opposite of what you mean for the sake of humor or being a pain in the ass, but ... why does the message say that the attempt to edit was unsuccessful when the attempt to edit was actually successful?
Edited, but of course.

You're trying to say that you get the joke, right?
