1. Apparently you're not satisfied with being ostracized, ignored and despised. Now you're actively asking to be thrown off this site?

2. Re-read the facts in that article. The person at issue made stuff up. That isn't the issue with you, is it?

3. Every day I say to myself, this fat, little woman can't get any more pathetic. And then you go and top yourself. You're a small wonder.

Listen, brick. I said nothing about you. I repeated someone else's joke word-for-word. And I did it because it was funny.

You're pissed off because you created your own situation here. You told a bunch of people shit you shouldn't have. And now they're joking about it. But had you (i) not done what the underlying jokes are about and (ii) not shared that with anyone who would half-listen, you would not be in this situation, would you?

And if you really thought any of it was going to cause any major problems for you, you would leave, wouldn't you? But you won't, so clearly you don't think it's a problem. Or maybe you know it is, but you want to have someone else to blame for the shit you've done. And that's not quite how it works. Well, at least for the non-delusional, that's not how it works.

Maybe I DO need a break but it isn't because TM or bnb wore me down or beat me into submission but it is the tired-assed double standard of do as I say, not as I do.

Good luck with that.

You are right. This board is no longer fun for a multitude of reasons some of which can be attributed to me, but truly darker and deeper reasons that go beyond that, into the depressing, mean spirited and malevolent vibe this board has developed. I can't take the whiplash feeling of being welcomed and respected and thought of intelligent in both the real world and the legal secretary site I frequent and then getting virtually beat up here by people I don't know and don't care about and frankly, have stopped respecting years ago.

As my friend once counseled me the small glimpses of humanity I receive here and there are not enough to counter the witch hunt and cruelty.
Ok, bye.

Thanks for that classic quote. Suddenly, I'm liking A-Rod more and more. He pretty much carried that team down the stretch.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

Good riddance.

"Boras said during a telephone interview that Rodriguez made his choice because he was uncertain whether Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte would return to the Yankees. Boras said it became clear that the others wouldn't make a decision by Rodriguez's deadline to opt out -- 10 days after the World Series."

Of course, what's flawed about this ridiculous response is that we would have had to weigh how much we would pay other people if we were going to give him the increase he was demanding. And I think it's disgusting that he used his teammates as a publicity-out when it's clear he's just greedy and thought he could get more somewhere else.

I hope he signs for less than $25 million with another team. Then he will be remembered for being unclutch, greedy and stupid.

with lunchboxes you know going in which are most valuable, but with sports there can always be surprises.

Well, he's got Boras to make him look like an ass. First, he cites "family commitments" to prevent him from coming to the WS to receive the Hank Aaron award. But, apparently those family commitments was making a final decision to opt out in time for Boras to announce it while the WS was still going on.

Does A-Rod gain anything by opting out earlier than he had to?

Among other things that are flawed. What other team has as much of a commitment to spending money to bring in high-quality talent than the Yankees? If the Yankees decide not to resign those guys, they'll be spending money on equivalent players in free agency. Can he say that about any other team besides the Red Sox? The cubs--not too sure. The angels? Maybe, but not to the same degree. The Giants? They got what they needed from Barry and are going cheap. Good luck.*

* Of course, in two weeks I'll probably be stuck arguing for why the Red Sox' signing of him for some recockulous amount is the greatest decision evah.

Ah, i haven't bought a lunchbox in years....but the lunchbox (now ex)boyfriend has taken to even more ridiculous toys...last one was a 1962 Mercedes Unimog military troop transport

makes lunchboxes look even more appealing.

The latest bf doesn't really collect anything other than bicycles. I'm such a pushover for a boy on a bike. Except for Flower. And Penske. And LessinSF in case he ever buys a bike to call my bluff. Oh and Slave. Shit, this is no good.
