I have given up trying to be funny. It's too much work.
I am now just an information conduit.
That was a legitimate question.
Besides, Thurgreed says - and I'm sure you agree that he's mostly correct - that I should retire.
And come back as BigFatMachoPetunia or some such.
We'll see.

Not to start a big political debate here, because I'm not sure I even have a position on this Florida case, but isn't the issue that the woman didn't leave written instructions? I thought the legal battle was between her husband who claims she told him to let her die if this sort of thing happened, and the parents who claim this is not what she would have wanted. Sounds like a legitimate and difficult issue of fact to me.
So it comes down to battling in the courts as to what her wishes were, and it sounds like Bush's action is in response to a lower court ruling for the husband...
Regardless of the eventual outcome, I'm sure it's gutwrenching for all concerned. Moral of the story, make your wishes known in a written living will...

It might have been about that factual dispute at one point or another, but we have things called courts to resolve those. After losing at all trial and appellate levels over five years --- including the U.S. Supreme Court --- Schiavo's parents took it to the Florida legislature instead, where apparently the standard of proof was more favorable. Separation of powers, "forum" shopping. Toe-may-to, to-mah-to.

Darwin Award Entry
I don't know if it is early in the process, but this kid who died while trying to "surf" a NYC subway car deserves consideration - http://www.nydailynews.com/front/sto...p-115468c.html . While it is good for the species (consider it evolution in action), I feel bad that the Yankees lost a fan.

The asian stereotype that was Mr. Magoo's cartoon butler did this same schtick 40 years ago and it wasn't all that funny back then either.

Excuse me but a majority of RP's posts are amusing or even SOL (smile out loud) funny. She should not be the poster child of Scroll City. Any of the fifteen people on my ignore list would suffice. Like a NFH or a CTD

Maybe you were aware of this and just trying to reinforce the point, but his post was directed toward NFH.
If that's the case, no need to pile on.
