Indeed not. In any event, resist the temptation, Felicity. It won't show well on the air.

Funny, i thought he was saying it about you, and I was just about to type something to the extent of "Mr. R, if you're setting Paigow as the benchmark for not-too-attractive, then you must be butt-fucking-ugly."

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

He gets the fat from his rude houseguests injected into his face. it makes for a totally fulfilling life I hear. ANd what could be better than being married to a woman who doesnt listen to what you tell her and insists that her rude fat pals come over and hog the furniture. sure beats being single! and her ass tastes delicious with a side of bacon.

Why not?
One of my sisters got a new tattoo last week. It's visible with most clothing, and it's rather unconventional. She says that it makes her happy. She'd have difficulty, I think, getting a biglaw job with that tattoo. Fortunately for her, she doesn't want a biglaw job, or any job, that would make her hide the tattoo. Her work is cool with it, and I don't think that it's going to adversely affect her life except for all of the "why did you get a ____ tattooed to your ____?" questions she'll probably be getting from now on.
My tattoo was done by my at-the-time secretary's son. He had done a beautiful koi pond on her legs, and I was impressed with the quality of his work. I rather like my tattoo.

Ah, yes, which explains why all the top grads from the top law schools going to the top firms remain there to make partner. How could it get any better than being a partner at a top firm?
Edited to explain (and I'll avoid the letter format): There are few, if any, jobs that cannot be bettered. And those few are not generally available even to the top graduate of Harvard. So regardless of where one starts, there's something better out there to change to. Why is that different for a top graduate than a 2d tier person? Because there are fewer "better" firms? That's classic inside the firmbox thinking.

Unless they think the Coltrane creds are so stellar (ie 4.0 at harvard and editor of law review, etc etc) that the fact that he has only been at his job two years is somthing that can be overlooked. If you were a firm that wanted a good stable happy worker bee, wouldnt you prefer someone who was at a job for a longer period of time thatn the first semi credible chance to jump ship?
|
Depends on what need you had to fill. Someone who worked two years, got some good experience (which is unusual), and showed real potential is much more interesting that someone who was an FBU for 4 years.
I left my first lawyer job after two years. And did not have a 4.0 from Harvard or anything of the sort.

Clearly you got that gig at Dangerfield, Baggins & Coltrane bc you are rewritinhg what I said, or distorting it from "two years is too soon" to "you must stay at same gig for eight to twelve years to make partner to be sufficeintly satisfied to stay and not look like a jobhopper". Good work man. A real tour de force, as Ty would say. Does it work with the judge?
