Wow, this is one of the most fascinating exchanges ever. ABBA, don't let up on her. Keep expressing your amazement that a high school of last resort has an art program. She'll cave, I know it.

I don't say this often, but in this case I'll make an exception. Please don't refer her to me. I probably could assist her, but not with a straight face. Besides, I think my wife has hacked into my email again and I can't risk her sending me the contemporaneous documentation.

The amazement was more that tm thinks the students care about copyright and trademark law as it relates to art.

So, my sister is an art teacher at a high-school-of-last-resort. I'm going for a visit and thought I'd like to see her in action. Her brilliant idea is that my visit should have a purpose, and I should give a 10-minute presentation to the kids. She was initially thinking art history or something, but my art history is pretty rusty. I'm thinking more along the lines of copyright and trademark law for artists. Anyone by any chance have something already put together I can steal? Chevy, where are you?
Thanks
tm

If I were you I would quash your sister's brilliant idea and just bring homemade cookies. That would have a purpose.

Thanks for the responses. I tend to agree with Thurgreed's analysis. As to the question about the basis of my suspicions, I was not snooping out of particular concerns with our relationship at the moment. I was snooping more as a response to historical precedent.
Things in the relationship have seemed pretty good lately. While I agree with Bold N Brazen that there are reasons I looked and there are obviously reasons em is expending energies on someone else, I disagree that snooping is "just as bad". It sounds to me like her situation might be different than mine, because if/when I confront my s.o. on this, it won't be about whose transgression was worse or whether I'm barred from discussing the issue because of my actions. I just want a discussion of what's going on in em's mind and where we can go from here. I want the relationship to work and I want us to get to a place where we can again trust that there are no secrets or lies. I am firmly in the "secrets are bad" camp. Including the secret of my snooping, which is why I'm not overly upset at having to confess that up as well.
In response to gwnc, yes it bothers me. Somewhat from a standpoint of feeling betrayed and somewhat because we've been through this before and I thought we had an agreement. Or, put another way, I didn't realize our relationship was really as fucked up as it apparently is. On some level, I snooped because I'm a snooper and I didn't really expect to find anything.
Finally, in response to Hank, I am quite aware that this will lead to a loss of snooping outlets. That's why I haven't confronted in the lead up to this point. I needed to know more clearly what was going on.

Assuming I am not getting suckerfucked into responding to another elaborate Penske-sock ruse, I think the unasked question here is, is the answer to your problem as simple as proposing a three-way with the S.O. and the horney emailee?
Seems like everyone would win with that one.

If it's couched as "how to protect and/or make money off of your art" it could work. I've seen (self-selected) kids at some TALA lectures on the subject. They also like "how to steal other people's art and turn it into your own."
Oh, and these are the corset piercings I'd seen in the e-mail. I kinda think the side one looks cool. And that tattoo is beautiful.

Just as an fyi, I have been doing some research and Mexico is no longer a quickie divorce haven. They changed their laws recently and now have strict residency requirements. Same with Haiti. So it's now Guam and the Dominican Republic.

I've learned that when I am snooped on, I can no longer trust the snooper.
