It's a pleasure to find a conservative so candid about the downside of torture. "Support our troops" indeed.

It's refreshing to find liberals admit that they don't care what actually happens to the good guys
- playing loud music at the bad guys, and mishandling a fucking book, is what really counts.

When you find one, let me know. We're the ones trying to get them out of Iraq.

What makes you think the prohibition on torture has anything to to with the Geneva convention? See Filartiga.
Next time, try to have a clue what you are talking about before bringing the outrage.

That one hadn't occurred to me, maybe because I don't know people like that.
But just so I understand, didn't you get the yes/no thing backwards?
If I take your meaning correctly, its worth noting that a big part of the reason much of the military establishment hates the "tough interrogation measures" authorized by the President for use by OGA -- and successfully fought like hell to keep them out of the newest Field Manual on interrogation, is precisely out of concern for our soldiers in the field.
Aren't politicians supposed to defer to the military?

Really?
I hadn't noticed. I was too busy watching the clips from Portland of the leftists burning soldiers in effigy, holding high homemade signs saying "Fuck the Troops" and shitting (literally) on the American Flag.

Man, I miss the good old days. It seems only yesterday that we could rely on Slave only having to walk a few blocks to see America-hating liberals shit on the flag. Now he's reduced to watching clips of commie assholes in Portland.
You know, again and again and again. But still. All the way to Portland? It just seems wrong.

I'm sure they were from Seattle. Talk to Penske.
yeah, there was a small amount of bad crazy bat shit stuff at the Portland protests. We're a generally liberal bunch here, but that ain't representitive, here or elsewhere.

Isnīt this what you want, kind of like the Palestinians celebrating in the streets on 9/11, giving a simple attack point?
Seriously, though, sometimes in a foreign country, Portland even, one has a serious, threatening need to take a shit. I would prefer a bible at such times, but a flag will do.

I'm totally appaulled by the atttitude on this board about this situation. Do you not see how serious of an act this is? A soveriegn nation taking hostages of another sovereign nation? These guys were, reportedly, in international waters and snatched by Iran, and now will be put on display for the war to see: http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/...257880,00.html
This is, yet, another act of agression by a seriously delusional state that is close to acquiring nuclear weapons. You guys are a fucking joke.

What would you like the reaction to be? We all agree that a delusional state is trying to provoke a reaction. What do you think we and the British should do about it? Invade? We can't. We don't have the resources for it, even if it wasn't a stupid idea.
This situation is a diplomatic crisis that will likely get worked out between Britain and Iran. That is about all there is to say about it right now.

The Brits are a patient bunch. They waited a year for us to return five of their citizens from Gitmo, and then another two years for us to return four more. And how many do you think were charged with anything?
Indeed, an appalling attitude.
