Ok, but if I catch you with shiny objects next time we meet for a drink, I can't be responsible for what happens.

Oh, God, yes. We're talking about a totally outrageous paradigm.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

Was he making eye contact w/you?

Why is this a bad thing? You should appreciate it as a highlight of your work day.

Although I must note that shiny metal objects usually cause me to avert my eyes. You should work on your similes.

I cannot help that you divert my eyes and I keep looking to see the shiny thing that is catching my eye.

Oh, yes. And he was checking out my ID badge which I'd accidentally left on my hip...not that he'd do anything with the information, so I'm not sure why.

He was trying to figure out where you worked. Or at least what building if he could recognize the key card.

Yes, that would have most ladies hot and bothered, if he was checking you out too.

Yes, but what's the point? Not like he's going to come bang on the door adn say "I must ahve bunny"

MY name and company are on my badge. I saw his sitting on the table and his company has a well-known (at least to me) logo, but not like I'd do anything about it (were I swingle).

Someone paid money for my name and employer's name even though it's on my company's website? How stupid can you get?

So he could hang out and see if he "runs into you" coincidentally in the lobby. Like if you have a Starbucks or a gift shop in the lobby. If he's hot, it is probable he's not a "stalker" type but he may be a player, like "oh, let's see where this cute girl works and try to run into her again!"

ABBA, for people who work at places that contain things of value (like the computer you are using) and client information, they often have IDs/key card so that access to the facility can be restricted to those who should be there.
