Can't. Florida's already using it in their instructional videos.

Reagan knew how to use it sparingly, so he could be taken seriously when he needed respect.
He has a 65% approval rating. The recall is old news.

I thought it was weird that the media spent so much time harping on his extra time and spent no time at all on the content of his speech. I pretty much consider Sharpton to be one of those crazy cousins that always embarrasses you at the family picnic. I sort of cringe and say "well, we're democrats, we have loons" when his participation in the party is brought to my attention. But that speech was incredible. After hearing that speech I finally understood why he's managed to get so much respect. I couldn't believe I was saying "wow, did you hear Sharpton last night" to people the next day. But the only thing I heard about from the media was "he went over his time limit, and boy are the Democrats pissed." Seemed to me that the crowd of Democrats loved his speech as much as I did.

"Sources say major changes could come at the campaign's highest level." That's the juiciest sentence in CNN's Kerry Shake-Up story. Not much else there, though. Except this:

Several campaign officials and advisers say they recognize the need to have an "adult" traveling with the candidate -- as one put it, "someone who can tell him to shut up ..."

The staff's fault, again! ... 3:20 A.M.

Yeah, yeah, like Bush's numerical minority was immediately old news, but y'all were allowed to point out, depite his approval ratings, that Clinton would never had been president had it not been for Perot.

You're conflating two issues. The question is whether his constant movie references "work." I say they don't. The reason he's been a reasonably effective governor hasn't been because of his celebrity --- it's been because he entered Sacramento with no history, so the legislature has little to go on during the power battles. I think the "I'll terminate the deficit" stuff makes him look like a cheeseball, not a leader. If you think that, to the contrary, it makes him a great leader, we're all in trouble.

(Please say celebrities make better executive branch leaders. We have a hell of a lot more of them to choose from than you do, and most of them are not constitutionally disqualified from the presidency.)

If this is trial balloon for Rob Reiner in '08, understand that a bald guy can't be elected President anymore.

Insiders know that Sheen already has a lock on '08.

Perhaps this would make sense to me if there were 150 people running for POTUS that year.

Not really. If it didn't "work" he wouldn't have the 65% approval rating. The "people" eat it up.

Only the ones who are foreign born and have won Mr. Olympus at least 7 times and the ones that worked for GE (directly, not NBC) for at least 5 years.

Chechnya prediction:

Are there any words of hyperbole too extreme to describe what is likely to happen if someone starts executing kids in Russia? Something tells me it ain't gonna make the Russians surrender. This is the kind of stuff they turned into folklore during WWII, and it led very much to a take-no-prisoners attitude in their people.

Start executing Russian kids, be prepared to see massive retaliation against Chechen civilians/musims.
