The commissioner was looking for a Al-anon confession, where he actually admitted he was wrong, knew he did wrong, apologized for it, and said he was working to reform. Not an admission that he bet, but it didn't matter because he didn't bet against the reds, and shouldn't matter because if he had an alcohol or drug problem he wouldn't have been banned, and that, although it does matter, he's not the type to get all apologetic, and whether or not he is such a person who can apologize, it's still him to hang out at the tracks and the sports book in Vegas, all two days before this year's hall-of-famers are announced.

And is there another player in recent memory who created a totally hall of fame career well after a totally mediocre first half more so than the Eck?
