The reality of the next two years is that:

THERE ARE AN EQUAL NUMBER OF REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRAT SENATORS.

THERE ARE 2 INDEPENDENTS.

Stop lying.
Tell that to the GOP Senators sitting at the bottom of their committee assignments for the next couple of years.

Probably too long. We could shorten it to "Strong opinions from someone who doesn't know fuck-all." Though RT might get mad at us for starting another Spanky-tribute thread.

Allen could win. It's a crapshoot.

No they don't.

Do the Republicans think of the military as unwitting cannon fodder to be sent to Iraq for political reasons without the proper armor or vehicles and in insufficient numbers?

Who the hell is going to give him money after he couldn't win re-election in Virginia?

Boy, I say to you, Judge us by our Deeds, not our Words, and we will Judge you thus as well.

Boy, I'd give him what I have, except for some reason this here Virginian wants Greenbacks and not our native currency.

Gore/Tennessee?
Tennessee is a red state, so while losing it was embarrassing for Gore, it doesn't call into question his basic political skills in the way that Allen's debacle did. The race was his to lose. Webb was way, way back in the polls, with no money, until Allen shot himself in the foot by aiming a pointless ethnic slur to a guy videotaping him. He then reloaded and shot himself in the other foot with the Jewish-aspersions thing. Apparently he understands that GOP candidates running in red-states should work the culture-war angle, but he has no clue about how to do it.

Speaking of which,

. . . .The campaign of Republican Sen. George Allen on Thursday released excerpts from some of the war novels Webb wrote between 1978 and 2002. The books include some graphic sexual passages, as well as frequent uses of a racial slur for blacks and descriptions of Vietnamese women as "monkey-faced."
This episode actually seemed to help Webb -- he got a boost in the polls from it.

Even Mondale won his home state. And, yes, it was a blue state (Red on ABC at the time, though), but still. It's his home state.

Not that any of that matters--you're right--Allen won't go much of anywhere having lost his seat.
