Fat, up to a point. And that's chunky, but not motherjumpin huge. After that, ugly. Doesn't matter how ugly after a point, because the lights or out or you've gouged out your eyes anyway.

Speaking of beasts --

Broad-way Joe Namath, the NY Jets "Goodwill Ambassador", has apparently called ESPN's Suzy Kolber to apologize for his behavior after saying he wanted to kiss Kolber during a drunken interview at a Sunday night NFL game...

No word on whether he breathed heavily into the phone or asked what she was wearing...

Peanuts aren't nuts. If you were allergic to nuts, you might want to know that the bag of peanuts you were about to consume might kill you.

I believe they're actually legumes, right? That said, I wouldn't imagine that "caution: contains legumes" is going to sound like a life-threatening heads-up to the allergic.

Bingo.

That, and the reality of bribery. aka kickbacks. Some service providers get carried away with their gifting.

Peanuts are legumes.

People who are allergic to nuts are not allergic to peanuts.

People who are allergic to peanuts are not allergic to nuts. And, god-willing, we will never see a label on a bag of peanuts that says "Warning: Contains peanuts."

People who are allergic to both nuts and peanuts are allergic to both nuts and peanuts.

I'm not allergic to either, but from what I've seen these can be pretty vicious allergies. When I was in college a student with a peanut-allergy died from eating a bowl of chili that was thickened with peanut butter. A good friend with a nut allergy has gone into coma-like shock from eating a non-nut containing donut because it had touched the coconut donuts.

Food allergies make no sense to me, from an evolutionary perspective.

He's a wuss compared to Michael Jackson, who is apparently "fighting mad" about the allegations against him. Now, if that doesn't strike fear into the hearts of the prosecutors, what could?

Str8 - the ACC is dry? wtf. I will have to look into that.
Dry for 8 days because they sold to minors or some shit.

On another note (sure this has been posted already here, but if not):

From Roger Friedman's column- ostensibly about Pettitte?

We were pretty upset when this professional sports player decided to leave New York. We thought it was for more money, but we were wrong.
For years this guy professed to have a "special relationship with God." But it turns out he had a special relationship with a woman who was not his wife. When the wife found out, she went ballistic. The player had two choices: stay in New York with his mistress, or return home and play with a new team.

Wisely, he chose the latter, which was why you didn't hear the thunder that usually accompanies such transactions. His New York employer knew the score, and had to acquiesce. Sometimes being a sport is more important than playing one.

To you, and all others who shamelessly offered gifts, I say "if you are in one of the 16 states we operate out of let's do business." Amount of work will be based upon value (financial and emotional) of gifts received.

Ty spotted on bus in Philadelphia

"Man Reading Pynchon On Bus Takes Pains To Make Cover Visible
PHILADELPHIA—According to riders on the eastbound C bus, John Bolen, 23, made a conscious effort Monday to make the cover of Thomas Pynchon's The Crying Of Lot 49 visible to all on board. "Instead of resting the book on his lap or on the seat in front of him, he was holding it up in this really awkward, uncomfortable-looking way," rider Caryn Little said. "Then, every so often, he'd glance around to see if anyone was noticing what he was reading." Bolen vehemently denied the Pynchon-flaunting charges, insisting that "the light was bad" on the bus."

Ty, dear, we all know you are smart. This is really pathetic.

Argggggh

Why, why, WHY WHY in the name of all that's holy would somebody promise this afternoon to deliver a response to a non-time sensitive matter by tomorrow? And why does this somebody have to work with me? And why does this person have input into my annual performance review, coming up soon, upon which my bonus is based, thereby precluding me from telling said somebody to fuck off? Did somebody not hear it was a holiday?

Man, I hate somebody.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc., etc. everybody. May your stockings be filled with whatever, or whomever, you most desire.

Choose your own smart-ass answer:

(1) Why not? Clearly they are meant to keep certain people skinny so Darwin can fuck them.

(2) Why not? If you are weak enough to die from eating a peanut, there is no room for you in a future with flying cars.

(3) Black History Minute:

In 1895, at the Tuskagee Institute in Alabama, a black man named George Washington Carver developed a new method of soil improvement through crop rotation to end the South African cultural dependence on cotton alone. As a result, Carver came up with hundreds of industrial uses for the peanut.

Meanwhile, one night, he's having a few friends over to his house for dinner. And one of them leans over and says to Dr. Carver, "Excuse me, George? What's that you’re putting on your bread?" Carver says, "Oh, that's nothing but a butter substitute that I made from peanuts. I can't digest all that animal fat, you know." So the other fellow tasted it, and he says, "Hmm…this tastes pretty good, man. Mind if we take a peek at the recipe?" And Dr. Carver says, "Take a peek? Man, you can have it. Who's gonna eat butter made out of peanuts? No, I'm working on a method to compress peanuts into phonograph needles."

So, Professor Carver's two dinner guests Edward "Skippy" Williamson and Frederick "Jif" Armstrong - two white men - stole George Washington Carver's recipe for peanut butter, copyrighted it, and reaped untold fortunes from it. While Dr. Carver died penniless and insane, still trying to play a phonograph record with a peanut.
