Hey! Look at what I read today.

TORONTO - Canada’s top court ruled Tuesday to keep marijuana possession illegal, dealing a blow to activists who had argued the drug causes no serious harm. A key question in the Supreme Court decision was whether Parliament has the constitutional right to punish marijuana possession, given the lack of proven serious harms from its use.

The high court examined three cases involving two pot activists and one man who was caught smoking. All three failed to persuade lower courts that the pot law is unconstitutional.

Sucks man. You Canadians had led me to believe that sparking one up up north was OK. Now I hear this. What next? Mushrooms illegal.
Nah. That'll never happen. Mushrooms are too organic.

pot is bad

I always thought a coconut was a fruit or a drupe but now I find out that it might really be a nut. Thank you, Sidd, for making my life complete.

Coconuts are drupes, as are many "nuts," must notably walnuts and pecans. Other drupes include peaches, cherries and plums, as well as raspberries.

I like drupes.

Well, I wasn't sure it was possible, but I did succeed in making this board reach an all-time high in sheer boringness. This is worse than TF telling us how she didn't start studying for the Bar until she was bent over the bed reading her outlines while getting banged from behind on the night before the exam, worse than PP latest "I'm cooler than you" thread, worse even than the TM random-attack-of-the day screed.

It may even be worse than the "my city's buildings are more distinctive than your city's buildings." The jury's still out on that one.

Come on, Sidd. I really, really, really can't stand not knowing whether a coconut is a nut or a fruit.

Interesting to see how these people think about business. There are links at the bottom with blurbs from different business leaders. It is related in a tangential way to what mmmmm and I were arguing about.

Well, you just set a record then. Because outlining all the boring threads couldn't be any more boring than any one of the threads you're concentrating on.

Damn. Now I just broke your new record.

Ask and it shall be googled:

or, even more exhausitively boring:

Don't know bout the second question. As to the first, pupils dilate or constrict based on the effect your current intoxicant has on your central nervous system. Stimulants tend to cause pupil dilation; depressants tend to cause pupil constriction.

'Bachelor' producers sue Guiney
LOS ANGELES - Bob Guiney, one of the stars of the popular ABC-TV reality series “The Bachelor,” has been sued for breach of contract by the show’s producers. In a lawsuit filed Friday, Guiney and his record company, Wind-up Records, were sued for promoting his new CD, “3 Sides,” and music video.
Stars of “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette” series sign contracts with exclusivity clauses prohibiting them from promoting any other products without permission, according to the lawsuit.

OK, so here's the question...why wouldn't ABC want as much publicity as they can get? Isn't getting the name "Bachelor" out there early and often good for them? I understand, if you were out there promoting kiddie porn or viagra or something, but is this really necessary?

More Reality news

And good news for Paigow, she won't have to watch Justin Guarini promoting his new CD and she won't be hearing it being played down at the local health club...

Gone and all but forgotten
Not all “American Idol” alumni were successful on the charts this year. Two finalists from the show’s first season --Justin Guarini and Tamyra Gray -- reportedly lost their record deals.

RCA Records released Guarini’s self-titled album in June, but the album sold less than 140,000 units in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. This year, Gray’s debut album was supposed to be released by J Records (part of the RCA Music Group) but never made it to the street, and now it is unclear whether the album will be issued.

That SNL Black History Minute was hilarious... Some of Eddie's best work, with Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood, Merry Christmas Dammit!, Buckwheat, James Brown's Celebrity Hot Tub Party and prison poet Tyrone Green reciting his poem 'Kill My Landlord'...

On a serious note... The Littlest Finger was diagnosed with a peanut and tree nut allergy by an allergist. We don't know how bad, but we carry an Epinephrine Pen with us just in case.

Very scary stuff.
