I watch the cards they play and feel in my belly the hollowness as the big drums go by, and I smile and shrug and say, Who needs games? Who wants parades? The world seems to be masses of smiling people who hug each other and sway back and forth in front of a fire and sing old songs and laugh into each others faces, and truth and trust. And I kneel at the edge of the woods, too far to feel the heat of the fire. Everything seems to come to me in some kind of secondhand way which I cannot describe. Am I not meat and tears, bone and fears, just as they? Yet when most deeply touched, I seem, too often, to respond with smirk or sneer, another page in my immense catalog of remorses. I seem forever on the edge of expressing the inexpressible, touching what has never been touched, but I cannot reach through the veil of apartness. I am living without being truly alive. I can love without loving. When I am in the midst of friends, when their is laughter, closeness, empathy, warmth, sometimes I can look at myself from a little way off and think that they do no really know who is with them there, what strangeness is there beside them, trying to be something else.

I know I should stp, but wtf. The new Coltrane is like the demonic love child of Sebby and mmmmmmmmmsomething.

I think you should all have a weekend getaway to Los Angeles. June Gloom appears to be over. 80-82 and sunny everyday. I can coordinate lodging and evening entertainment...

Why did he feel the need to point out that he was in sixth grade?

When we went to Star Wars, we were talking about the first one and I mentioned that I had seen it in the movie theater when it first came out (I was 7). He hadn't been born. So that made me feel a little weird.
But the important thing is that if you look younger, it's all ok.

Absolutely. And may I complement you in your choice of housecoat, very stylish and understated. If I were 30 years older, or if you were 40 years younger, we could have had something.

If he had, they wouldn't be splitsville. 'Cause he would keep on lovin' Bnb. They'd be ridin' the storm out. Roll with the changes, and all that.
Maybe he was more into REO Speeddealer.

By the way
This has to be meaningful, along with all the hits about the snub, the third google hit under a search for "Oprah Hermes" includes the following products:
http://www.oprah.com/omagazine/olist...0015_kit.jhtml
http://www.oprah.com/omagazine/olist...0024_liv.jhtml
Doesn't that mean that it is among the most visited sites for that combination of words (significant since there are so many articles on the snub in the search results).
And I don't know if this means anything, but it's more info that nfh has yet to post:
Security staff informed Winfrey that the store was closed for a public relations meeting, but the TV star's best pal and travelling companion GAYLE KING insists Oprah was treated badly.
King says, "People were in the store and they were shopping. Oprah was at the door and she was not allowed into the store... It was one of the most humiliating moments of her life."
Winfrey's pal also states that Oprah is upset by the Hermes' apology because "it implies that nothing offensive happened".
___________
I'd like to hear her side of the story, but she can kiss my ass if she thinks I'm going to tune into her show to do so. The problem for Hermes is that the anticipation she creates for such a show will build and build and will be an event when it actually airs.

Keep on Lovin you came on the radio one day at work and the guy I was working for at the time WENT OFF, on how he hated Speedwagon and how no one should ever pronounce it "fer-ever." Went off. Every time I hear that song I think of him. He was a real dick to work for and his wife was 10 years older than he, but she was hot and way too good for him. Fer-ever.
