I usually call them out, although, like you, in a teasing way. It eventually worked.
I was the groomsmen in a buddy's wedding. The wedding was in Chicago, where Cheap Guy groomsman resides. Cheap Guy has a history of bringing nothing to the table and shorting us on bar tabs. Cheap Guy isn't rich, but he definitely isn't poor. Cheap Guy and SO attend the rehearsal dinner and the wedding, which equals two nights of free food, booze and entertainment. Granted, Cheap Guy had to rent a tux. Nevertheless, Cheap Guy gets Bride & Groom a $75 gift. Groom calls him out for being a cheapass, and does so by bcc-ing his other friends on the call-out email. Good times.

Okay. In my younger, poorer days this happened: Went to club with friend and his girlfriend. We order a pitcher of beer and he wants me to split 50/50. Now today I would buy any friend Cristol, or Remy or Bud or whatever, flat out buy it. But, this was when I was poor.
So etiquette- you and friend and friend's SO go out, you shouldn't be expected to split the tab- right? She was drinking some, and she wasn't having sex with me*.
*this isn't about Penske and his wife. When I go out with them, I always buy her drinks.

I was surprised Flower brought that cheap cat turd coated sock back. I thought he was better than that. Then I came back to my senses.

The NYT owns a sizable chunk of the Red Sox. It's the anti-Yankees local paper.

A little defensive, no?

Please. Read the columnists--they've beat up on the Sox, and their fans, plenty the last few weeks.

So she's drinking it, too? At 25, you split it into thirds. If he wants to cover her third, fine. You shouldn't have to pay for her.
However, if you order three pitchers, and she only has one glass out of those three, then you and your friend should probably split it.
Regardless, in either situation, the girl should at least attempt to pony up for what she drank.

Just one pitcher? Split it, but make him order the nachos.

The first pitcher is only important for the precedent it sets. In those days I don't believe there were too many 1 pitcher nights.

When you're out, does she go for Cristal, Remy or Bud? I always thought she was more of a straight Tequila shooters gal, but maybe I just bring out her wild side.

Woman finds sobriety, community through LOTR Slash (spree: chicago reader article that may not be sfw due to some photoshopped hobbits gettin it on)

That would sort of be good, no?

Too much effort for me to even think about. If it involves more than 2 minutes of concentration and I'm not getting paid for it, I'm not doing it.
