No one was saying you should give them when they are inaccurate. If you don't think your girlfriend is beautiful, I feel sorry for you. Having sex with ugly people can't be very fun.

Senators Accuse U.N. Leader of Blocking Their Fraud Inquiry

Leaders of a United States Senate subcommittee investigating allegations of fraud in the oil-for-food program in Iraq have accused Kofi Annan, the United Nations secretary general, of obstructing their inquiry.

In a letter sent to Mr. Annan yesterday, the Republican chairman and ranking Democrat on the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations charged that the secretary general and a panel he appointed to conduct an independent investigation into the charges of abuses appeared to be "affirmatively preventing" the Senate from getting documents from a former United Nations contractor that inspected goods bought by Iraq.

The senators also complained that Mr. Annan was blocking access to 55 internal audit reports of the program and other relevant documents and refusing to permit United Nations officials to be interviewed by the subcommittee's investigators.

That said, later on this morning, NPR reported that these vials were not actually Sarin gas, but they were kits to test for Sarin gas. I'll find the link for you.
No need to look for the link to that story. Club's link is for a story reporting that they found Sarin test kits, not Sarin gas itself.

No offense, but this attitude really pisses me off, even now that I am separated and have reconsidered my views on marriage. Why shouldn't you get married if the option is available to you and you want to spend your life with one person? So infertile couples who don't want to adopt should get divorced? I still think there is more to marriage than kids, even though my kid-less marriage appears to have not worked out so well. I got so sick and tired of justifying my marriage to people who had this attitude.
Actually, I think that the gay marriage debate may have changed his attitude about it a bit. I know it certainly changed my attitude. Certainly, there something more to marraige than kids if so many people who cannot have kids (at least biological kids together) want to do it.

Yea, but will anybody listen?

I thought this piece by Gerstein, formerly communications director for Sen. Joe Lieberman and a senior strategist for his presidential campaign, was informative. Read the whole thing.[/quote]

Breaking Old Habits

To develop the next generation of new ideas, Democrats have to break out of our stale political grooves. That means choosing new leaders who "get" the problem -- and can articulate a clear, consistent and compelling vision throughout a campaign (indeed, throughout a career), something John Kerry clearly did not do. It means declaring our independence from the sclerotic influence of progress-blocking interest groups like the teachers unions -- and being willing, as Bill Clinton was, to challenge outdated party orthodoxies.

And not least of all, it means finally banishing top Kerry guru Bob Shrum and his tone-deaf chardonnay populism, along with the rest of his broken-record peers, from our presidential campaigns for good. Mr. Shrum may be our party's pre-eminent concession speechwriter, but if we can't figure out that a top strategist who goes 0-8 in the Super Bowl is doing something fundamentally wrong, we don't deserve to win.

In the end, Democrats have a clear choice. We can keep complaining about Republican tactics and voter stupidity. Or we can work to convince the broad majority again that government can be an effective agent for economic and social progress, and that Democrats can nurture the American Dream while keeping us safe from harm. I know which one I'm voting for.

Left Wing Claims Exit Polls Were Accurate, Bush Stole Election
(CNSNews.com) - An emerging conspiracy theory among some political left wingers acccuses Republicans of stealing the 2004 presidential election. While many Americans wonder why Election Day exit polling was so inaccurate and showed Democrat John Kerry winning, liberal bloggers and activists insist the exit polls were correct and that Republican forces used fraud to help President Bush win re-election on Nov. 2.
