She will be.

How 'bout admitting him as a player and omitting all references to Rose as a manager? I haven't heard any allegations that he bet on games while he was playing. Or did the betting occur during the player/manager days?

wasn't one of the Ph.D. types--I think the woman with the monstrous purse she never put down--a trailer-parker (or similar equivalent destitute upbringing, since she didn't seem trashy, just from a poor background)?

But, sure, the nature v. nurture thing is always fun. I'd bet a dollar on the poor black guy from the streets any time.

(Speaking of which, why when I see those NFL network ads with Rich Eisen to I start hearing: "This is a Roche Foucault. The finest water-resistant watch in the world. Singularly unique, sculptured in design, hand-crafted in Switzerland and water resistant to three atmospheres. This is *the* sports watch of the '80s. Six thousand, nine hundred and fifty five dollars retail!
. . . It tells time simultaneously in Monte Carlo, Beverley Hills, London, Paris, Rome and Gstaad."? Sure it's good to be Rich. But is it good to look like Dan Ackroyd?

spa help

Since CERTAIN METROSEXUALS who SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS are not responding via IM, I am posting to the board in general:

What is a good spa in seattle from which to get a gift certificate for a massage? The recipient lives in the 500 block of NE 89th St., if that matters.

Thanks!

Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post. I really appreciate it.

Edited to add, maybe the recipient lives on Erskine Way. JFC, how annoying, people should not be permitted to move.

He's being voted on as a player. He stayed to long and bet as a manager. Question for baseball is: do you readmit him. Question for the hall is: do you allow a vote for the hall, on the merits, of players who are permanently banned (including shoeless joe). question for the voters is: is his managerial gambling relevant to the merits of his hall-worthiness. I think the two should be separate, and his gambling as a manager is irrelevant to his worthiness as a player. If he gambled while he was a player, then, yeah, no way he gets in. I do think he should be in the hall because of his acocmplishments as a player. I also think he should never, ever be allowed to set foot on a major league baseball field during a game.

Don't ask me, I didn't see it. I was making out with ABBA in the kayak.

We're meeting at [place and time.]" If she knows she can show up, she is less likely to be concerned. And if the ex is truly a friend, why shouldn't she be friends with the current SO, especially if the SO is a spouse, not just the flavor of the month? If there is some reason you wouldn't want the SO to be there, maybe you're not quite so sure it won't be harmless or that you completely want it to be harmless. "Transparency" was the word of 2003 and it's a good thing to keep in mind with relationships you want to remain healthy.
Fugee, have you ever met with an ex, much less met with an ex with your SO?

If you're meeting with an ex, you almost always end up talking about the fun things you did when you were together. This is a conversation which, (1) at best, would be extremely uncomfortable to have in front of a current SO, (2) at worst, would be impossible to have in front of the SO, depending on what comes up and (3) you wouldn't want the SO to be imagining you having because she's not there.

Your relationship expertise notwithstanding*, "transparency" does not ensure a healthy relationship and furthermore is not required for one.

Good lord. The lie was one I just made up off the top of my head. I've used some of those techniques in past relationships to get away with anything from out-right cheating to lying about going to a game instead of some dinner party. I will admit those relationships weren't healthy ones. But I still don't believe that if you're meeting an ex to hang out (and not cheat or even want to cheat), it's no big deal to do so without telling your SO.

Preach on. I'd like to lose about a pound and a half and I've only TUIMMALB so far.

Yez. Sometimes you give up things you have a right to do because you're in love. But sometimes you don't. And love isn't always "SO first" either. If you don't have your own separate existence to a certain extent, you WILL burn out.

No, you're not convincing me. The example was made up. But I have no problem with it.

And you know what? If my SO pulled the same stunt and I KNEW for a fact that it was no big deal and she wanted to avoid the many questions I would be asking about their time together, I wouldn't get that upset.

But this all reminds me that, although it was the prudent thing to not tell my friend's SO about his spending time with the extremely hot woman when he was supposedly away with friends, I shouldn't have been such a chicken and told him I thought he was playing with fire. It's too bad it's so long after the fact that raising it now would be uncomfortable.
Would it really? For some reason I doubt that's true.

Do I need to watch this now to find out if I have been subtly or unsubtly ridiculed, or will you let me know? I don't do reality TV metaphors.

Wordemupdoc. Although I think it's more Atlantic City than Vegas.

I would rather live in my shitty little apartment than that place, even with the views and extra space.

When one of the chix kept dragging her hands along the marble in the entrance-way, I fully expected a midget to emerge from the wall behind her to polish it up.

Now, I don't know how shitty and little your aparment is, but unless really shitty and little, I'd agree. It's fine to spend the money on views and a space. But, shit, he's proven that you can't buy taste. classé it is not.
