Um, Thurgreed, I think that they call it "faith" for a reason.
Apropos of nothing, I can't remember the last Sunday I went to Mass, but I ate a tuna sandwich today, and will keep the next few Fridays meat-free. It's obviously some sort of an atavistic residue of brainwashing in childhood thingy, but I just can't help but do the Lent stuff.

No need. It's been translated into German for safekeeping, with the usual, um, lengthening effect.

Actually, I did. The stuff that you CAN sell here is generally imported, also, but is still not the "real" stuff.

I don't think so. I have faith in a deity, but I don't think my dad is toast because he doesn't. Perhaps it is her specific faith.

And if you're not a Anise fan, you're not going to like the taste. Sort of Zambuca like in taste.

Shit, I'll stick to pot and bourbon. That sounds wretched. Sambuca might be the most vile liquor on the planet.

I have had absinthe. I think you could get it in Canada for a while. My boyfriend had it. Very trippy. Gross taste though and awful - can't move hangover.

Her faith is not very strong, or she would be certain that you'll burn in hell. Because of her lack of faith, I'm pretty sure she's toast also.

Right. And so when one says that one believes that God will send all those who reject Christ someplace other than the the good place, and yet one cannot "prove" that that will happen (other than by citation to various parts of the Bible), that is faith.
Edited (a second time) to add that that is why TM's question is kind of pointless. I mean, essentially he asked "other than your faith in something that can't be proven, how can you prove what you believe?"

Trippy like mushroom trippy or just "my body feels rubbery" trippy.
If I'm sending away to Europe and probably getting myself placed on some DEA watch list, I'd like to see the colors dance like the cover of Yoshimi Fights the Pink Robots.*
* I do not recommend this album with drugs. Its "too much."

trippy like "I can't feel my face and have lost all sense of proportion". I don't get like that from mushrooms.

So if i tell my friends I have a twenty inch cock and a Gulfstream IV praked behing my place, I "fabricating", but if I tell them they'll go to a mythical "hell" tended by a fallen angel if they don't follow the edicts of a 2000 year old book, that's "faith." Got it. Next time a judge accuses me of playing fast and loose with the record, I'll say "Your honor, I'm just faithful."
"No, that wasn't perjury. I was being faithful."
Fuck, I like this faith gig already. Sign me up for bible class.

I was going with 2b from the Merriam-Websters online dictionary, but whatever works for you.
Main Entry: 1faith
Pronunciation: 'fAth
Function: noun
Inflected Form(s): plural faiths /'fAths, sometimes 'fA[th]z/
Etymology: Middle English feith, from Old French feid, foi, from Latin fides; akin to Latin fidere to trust -- more at BIDE
1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : LOYALTY b (1) : fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions
2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust
3 : something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs
synonym see BELIEF
