Is anyone coming to town for this weekend's concert? Any thoughts on the lineup?

* Will Smith
* Bon Jovi
* Dave Matthews Band
* Destiny's Child
* Jay-Z
* Kaiser Chiefs
* Keith Urban
* Linkin Park
* Maroon 5
* P Diddy
* Rob Thomas
* Sarah McLachlan
* Stevie Wonder

I'm not all that thrilled about it, especially when compaed to the London show. Still, it will be interesting to see Stevie and Jay-Z.

I'm going to Chicago for Lollapalooza and Austin for ACL. I wouldn't travel for anyone on the Live 8 list.

What's the point of having Will Smith AND Maroon 5 AND Rob Thomas. Aren't they the same thing?

I predict a snooze-fest.

This should ease some of those worries.

". . . Cruise earned more than $70 million on Mission: Impossible . . . ."

"[Mission: Impossible II] went on to be an even bigger success than the original, earning more than a half-billion dollars at the box office and selling over 20 million DVDs. Cruise's share amounted to $92 million . . . ."

I didn't realize Philly hosted the Pennsylvania State Fair. I can only assume Stevie's handlers told him he was playing a much bigger room, although someone will probably have some 'splainin to do about the tractor pull and demolition derby announcements on the PA system.

I second the motion. Lovely movie - would have been lovelier without the not-so-cute child talking throughout the entire movie behind us. It was an 8:45 show - who brings their 3 year-olds to that? Musical score could have been better too. But definitely had its moments. The chicks are the cutest things ever.

Which kind of makes sense.
I was ignoring all the translations and looking forward to the day when he ate enough of that chocolate cake that he was fatter than Denzel, both on and off the internet.

We needed a place to kill time because my dealer wasn't showing up until 11.

Early on, the plot seemed familiar to the point where I was guessing what would happen next, not a good feature for a crime caper type of movie. Then I realized that it was a remake of Nine Queens, an Argentenian flick that came out a few years ago and which I recommend. The remake was faithful to the original except for some minor changes that made the whole caper not make a lot of sense. If you're going to remake any movie, even a foreign flick, you should do it in some way that improves on the original.
Sort of the way Thurgreed has remade himself on the internet.

When I was a kid, we were watching some show on TV involving baby penguins and were so obviously enamoured of them that the (large) dog got jealous and tried to climb in our laps. Very funny. She never did that (for TV programs) other than that one time.

Pets are fun!
