I hate Cruise but I really liked this movie. Watanabe is soooooo cool.

I got two wonderful gifts this year. I'll share one. The person I see now and again bought me a surround sound system. The bad part about this gift is she didn't know they don't include a lot of the cables, so I had to run out and buy them before we could view the appropriately noisy x2 and watch the half naked blue woman run around.

I won't say it is a horrible gift, but it is a huh, do you even know me kind of a gift. You know those things you put around the bottom of your wine glass as decorations? I was given a set. It was very sweet and all, I just have no clue what I will do with them.

While browsing the web site, however, I did find a shirt that I bought for myself just this weekend. A gift to me, from me, although I'm sure Paigow will argue that it is further evidence of me futilely clinging to youth:

Stylin'. You're not going to wear this with your plaid pants, though, are you?

You can use them the next time you have a slumber party with five to seven other women, you know, the kind where you all drink too much wine and forget which wine glass is yours after the pillow fight.

Make 'em into hoop earrings. Or, whimsical little zipper pulls for your current handbags.

And ruin the form of my glasses? Distract from the heavenly nectar contained within? I think not.

Ok, I thought only men had the fantasy that lesbians got together and had pillow fights in their nighties. We don't do this. We dispense with the clothing and pour honey and/or chocolate all over each other and lick it off. Get with the program.

The zipper pull or earring idea is intriguing. I need to get my ears repierced though.

Is that before or after one of the pillow fighters' bikini top accidently slips off?

Ah, Rebecca.

Now that you have the surround sound, go watch "Seabiscuit". The scene where she marries John John is very touching.

I got a set of those as a wedding gift (did they even LOOK at the fucking registry? not by the looks of the gifts...) and still haven't figured out what to do with them.

I saw Return of the King and can't understand what all the fuss is about. It was good, but deteriorated into schmaltz for the last part of the film. Plus, there is something a little disturbing about image after image of blue-eyed Viking-type warriors battling dark forces - most of which are ugly and some look vaguely Arabic. Is it just me - did anyone else have Onward Christian Soldiers blaring in their heads? Good battles, and scary in parts, but not the big deal everyone says.

My Christmas holiday was fantastic. No one fought, everyone was great, the children are so cute it hurts and gifts were wonderful. Really really great.

I call bullshit. I've seen pictures. They're in no condition to show anyone now, but trust me.

Christmas Present Redux

Worst Present: Nothing. I didn't get much for Chistmas this year, as the in-laws (with whom we spent Xmas) elected to get one fairly expensive gift "for the both of us," but really it's for the baltspouse, and the baltspouse and I agreed to not spend too much on Christmas this year because we're trying to save for a house upgrade, which she took more seriously than I did, and my parents are a little flakey about mailing gifts, so I had very little to open on Christmas morning. A couple of CDs I didn't ask for and a pair of school-themed boxer shorts from the SIL's college bookstore.

Best Present: The Beatles Let It Be Naked cd. Interestingly different.

At least the baltspawn cleaned up. Toy-o-rama. Word is the Fisher Price Little People Farm RAWKS.

Whimsical zipper pulls for your manly briefcase?
