Because the owner of the Cubs didn't sell the team's star player to a intra-league rival for a bucket of cash in order to finance a Broadway flop.

Will "Curse" end this year?
If Pedro and Curt both win
and Sox bats show up.

Dave (Devon Sawa), Sam (Jason Segel) and Jeff (Michael Maronna) are about to graduate from Holden University with Honors in lying, cheating and scheming. The three roommates have proudly scammed their way through the last four years of college and now, during the final exams, these big-men-on-campus are about to be busted by the most unlikely dude in school.
Despite the fact that I sense a bitter rancor in your post, I appreciate the correction. I think I will try to model my corrective posts after those by dtb. While we both strive to keep the level of mental discipline on this board high, I fully admit that she is able to do so without provoking the same animosity that I do. This board helps me to learn in many ways, even when the lesson is as simple as learning that I have much to learn.

I'm feeling like a condescending sarcastic tone forms at least part of the provocation, assjack.

Fall foliage is pretty.

It's OK to switch to peeing in the toilet once the cup is halfway full.

Please be sure to wash your hands before leaving the restroom.

"overflow" is typically a noun, not a verb, and "overfloweth" is not even part of the King's English. I think this works better with "floweth over."

My new favorite pick-up line

Me (passing neighbor and his four-year-old son on a sidewalk on our street on Saturday night): Hola.

Neighbor: Ho-la-la...

(Note: It didn't work, but I appreciated the effort and the creativity.)

That is pretty good - it got my first chuckle of the morning, and I've been over reading politics for a while.

Purse junkie shout-out

So, my favorite "el-cheapo knock-off bag" website just sent me a postcard, and after wondering for 15 minutes who the hell it was from and why they were sending it to me I realized that they were announcing that they opened a brick and mortar storefront on Manhattan.

I gather that anti counterfitting efforts haven't been that successful recently.

According to the L&O:SVU episode I caught 15 minutes of last night, since 9/11 almost all counter-counterfeit resources go to DVDs, because the DVD rackets are linked to terrorist funding and have such high profit margins.

Take the source for what it's worth.
