I told you once you son of a bit..., er, gun...
Ya'll saw the godaddy.com ad making fun of the FCC?
There was supposed to be a second one.
The NFL saw the first one, called FOX in a panic, and FOX pulled the second one.
So says, Bob Parsons, the CEO of godaddy.com.
Quote:
"The NFL persuaded FOX to pull our ad.
We immediately contacted Fox to find out what happened. Here's what we were told: After our first ad was aired, the NFL became upset and they, together with Fox, decided to pull the ad from running a second time. Because we purchased two spots, we were also entitled to a "Brought to you by GoDaddy.com" 5 second marquis spot. They also chose to pull the marquis spot."
|
This is getting ridiculous.
ETA: link to racier ad. NSFW if you W for NFL or FOX.

Maybe, but pulling this one was a good idea.

Ford Pulls Lincoln Spot From Super Bowl
'Lusting' after Lincoln's Mark LT.
NEW YORK Ford Motor Co. has pulled a spot from the upcoming Super Bowl telecast, apparently as a result of pressure from a special-interest group that found it offensive to sexual-abuse victims of Roman Catholic priests.
The 30-second spot from WPP Group's Young & Rubicam in Detroit touts Lincoln's new Mark LT luxury pickup. It features a clergyman who finds Mark LT keys on his collection plate. Romantic music swirls as he strolls around the truck in the church parking lot, imagining the vehicle was given to him as a gift. Until a tap on the shoulder wakes him from his reverie. A man with child in tow says, "kids." The minister hands him the keys.
The final scene shows the reverand spelling out the topic of his next sermon ("Lust") on the church's roadside bulletin board.

'Lusting' after Lincoln's Mark LT.
What kind of ad guy couldn't figure out that "Lust" wouldn't be a good tagline for this one?

California's made you soft. You were probably watching beach volleyball last night, not the superbowl, huh?

Hmm. My dad used to do that with me. This does not bode well for the streets of Michigan.

Who was asleep at the switch? The ad was on several tv shows (today, etc.) well in advance of the game.

In your's the black guy is the butt of the joke. That is you post because of the T reference.
He was only mentioned in mine because there was a black guy in the shot with the image that was the butt of my joke. If the fat guy was in a photo with an overweight woman, or a crazt woman or whatever, I would have posted it and used some other name. I think my T. use is different in that regard.

When you were 4?
I think I did that when I was like 5 or 6. But that was before airbags. And it was in a parking lot, not on the streets. Driving on the streets with a 4 yo in your lap sounds not so smart.

It's just longer, not racier. If that's the one I saw already, it's not like that chick shows her tits or anything.
Tits and monkeys. Wow. Advertising. Tough business.
