That support for Iraq isn't looking so hot now either.

I wouldn't call myself energized, exactly, but I'm certainly looking forward to the Veep debate more than I have in any previous election.
Prediction: Cheney will come off looking like a total dick. No one's vote will change, but it will make for great TV. Wild card: Cheney gets Dukakised when panelist asks him about his daughter vis-a-vis the Marriage Amendment.

Oddly enough, I'm betting that Cheney will be better prepared for that question.

Anyway, i give you Michael moore 9/12/01.

Bush is to blame for 9/11, because of Kyoto, anyway its our fault. this is Mike for real, laid bare. not the mike trying to influence your vote.

He's made an effective propaganda piece. The fact that Moore is a big fat slob who isn't fair and balanced when it comes to the right doesn't matter - the movie works, and it's going to resonate. But I don't go to Moore for the news like I don't pick up the Post when I want to know who Kerry's VP is.

I'm betting that Cheney uses the debates to think Clinton for the strong military that Clinton left behind:
"A commander in chief leads the military built by those who came before him. There is little that he or his defense secretary can do to improve the force they have to deploy. It is all the work of the previous administration. Decisions made today shape the force of tomorrow . . . . And when [the first Gulf War] ended, the first thing I did was to place a call to California, and say thank you to President Ronald Reagan."
-- Dick Cheney, August 2000

A modest proposal for the Kerry campaign
- [H]ere's my ideal plan for the Kerry campaign. At an upcoming rally, an anti-Kerry protestor starts to burn an American flag. Kerry leaps down from the podium and starts strangling the protestor with his bare hands, then hurls him to the ground and rescues the flag. In the course of putting out the fire, he suffers minor burns that, the campaign announces, will force him to be hospitalized and inaccessible to the media and the public until mid-October. In the meantime, Edwards is dispatched to present the Democratic message for the next three and half months.
Sounds good, huh? All they need is to gin up a protestor who's willing to endure some minor, non-lethal choking.
Jonathan Chait here, towards the bottom.
If recent posts on the FB are any guide, I'm betting Shape Shifter would volunteer.

Clever idea, but no. Let's stay in the real world, people.
Personally, I'm waiting for Hillary to step in. Sure, the ticket seems final now, but did anyone see Kerry's persistent eye twitch during his Pittsburgh speech?
I'm smelling a coup in the smoke-filled back rooms of the convention hall in Boston, folks. Stay tuned! Developing ....

As one who maintains that Soccer will ultimately become our national pastime, I'm not sure your finger is quite on the national pulse.

My finger is on a pulse that's beating out "Mets Sweep Yanks At Shea, Win Series."
Have you seen the movie yet? I know you're a transcript kind of guy, but believe me it's more effective with all the moving pictures and talking and stuff.

So far, I've only been able to download half via Kaazaa.
Moore being subversive and all, I'm quite sure he won't mind people downloading it.

Say what you will about Reagan as a leader, he was able to keep his gay children in the closet.

I thought that the point was that he looks good teeing off, but the ball lands in a sand trap.
edited for clarity -- t.s.
