if she's real pretty, maybe she can help you break away from the lawyer gig, at long last, w/o significant paycut.

I used to have the haircut, but I bagged it for a shorter, more manageable look. The 80s must've been a tough decade. That's one hellofa hairstyle to carry off. So much fucking work, with the hair in the eyes all the time...

I think the career change he was going for was "Pimp Daddy."

Not really, although there is in NZ.

Of course, how does one explain the aussies in teh winter X games? (If one can explain those at all--let's take some crazy events, and put them on ice and snow. Sweet, dude, sign me up.)

But the aussie accent is cool, so that along explains it.

Yes. but not in Mississippi. A mississippi Daddy is likely to take up too much of her schedule himself.

(spree: stop reading after Dan's first answer. trust me.)
Of course, with a warning like that, I read the rest. While the first letter was pretty gross, it's nothing that can't be found on the likes of poopsex.com (spree: read the URL, it tells you all that you need to know). As for the second, the concept of lapping up someone's sloppy seconds is, for me, more revolting that the first letter (especially given the discussion of safe sex that we've been having).

When I was waiting to get my passport a couple of summers ago, there was an Australian woman sitting next to me and she told me that they had tickets to go back to Australia (this is in July) to go skiing for a few weeks when they found that the kids' passports had expired. So apparently there is skiing - don't know how good it is - but good enough for this family to fly the 16 or so hours to get there.

Eh, I get more annoyed than anything else, because I always think how stupid it is to have a likely non-skiier advertising for a ski shop. It would be like someone with a Chicago accent advertising a surf shop.

Australia never struck me as high on anyone's list as a ski destination, so the commercial seems more annoying than anything else. (And in response to anyone who would pipe up with a comment that annoying commercials are better than forgettable ones, I note that I have no idea of which store for whom Aussie boy is shilling.) If you were advertising for a ski store, wouldn't you pick someone with a Canadian or Swiss accent?
I was actually thinking about this myself the other day, since I am planning a trip to Oz in the fall, and want to at least see the mountains while I'm there. There is a bit of skiing in AU, yes, but much more in New Zealand, which has more impressive mountain ranges. Remember that the southern areas of Australia are approximately 45 degrees south latitude, and the north 45th meridian crosses Minneapolis. Of course, there is generally more moderation due to the surrounding ocean, but the interior areas can get cold.

According to this link, there are 11 ski areas in AU, and 25 in NZ:

http://skiing.about.com/library/weekly/aa050501a.htm

Maybe your local ski shop shill is a New Zealander? Or maybe the shop is just attempting to capture that all-important drinking, fighting, wife-beating demographic.

I don't have kids but suspect there are a lot of things other than sexual prowess that go into evaluating a daughter's suitors.

Will he be physically or emotionally abusive? Will he refuse to wear a condom and give her nasty and/or incurable STDs? Will he force her or slip her a ruffie if she decides she doesn't want to have sex with him? Etc. etc.

Excuse Me

I just wanted to let everyone know that Dany Heatley is playing tomorrow against the Blues. I meant to say something earlier when I found out but, to be honest, I have been floating on cloud nine and just recently came close enough to the computer to let you all know.

Now you can go back to talking about whatever it was that you were talking about -- today I care about nothing but Dany Heatley and our renewed hopes for Stanley Cup glory.

So that's why Australia is so flat, and why there's no skiing there?
