Is this guy related to James Lipton (as played by Will Ferrell)?

Nic Cage is an ape. I liked him in Las Vegas, but I could play that role given enough gin. That motherfucker owes Uncle Francis big time. And Sophia owes daddy big time. I might be alone here, but I thought Lost in Translation was almost as boring as Garden State. In fact, now that I think about it, Braf should be sued for plagiarizing Coppola's script. Garden State was basically LIT, Jersey-style.
When did "View listless 20-something (or middle aged man) ponder navel and agonize over pointlessness of life" become a boilerplate script? I want to see Sideways because I think Giamatti is great, and the guy from Wings is funny, but I'm scared that it will be a buddy flick version of Garden State/LIT set in wine country.
...And nothing is more boring than Sonoma/Napa. You tour, you sip, you walk around. There's some pretty houses to look at, lots of dirt and fields of grapes. It can be done in about four hours. Why must I be forced to go there for an entire day every time I visit SF? Why?

Sebby: your shit is more tolerable when it's on topics about which you know something.
I always wonder who goes to see Jerry Bruckheimer films. This post has shed light on that mystery. A movie can do so much more re-hash the hero/quest archetype. If a movie can capture with authenticity what it feels like to be in a certain place, whether geographical (Lost in Translation, Sideways, Singles), emotional (Garden State, Lost in Translation, Sideways) or simply what it's like to be at a certain point in one's life (Dazed and Confused, Reality Bites, the sublime and underappreciated Ghost World), well why is that navel gazing? I think that's more than a valid use of the medium, it's art. I'd take any of the movies I've named here over movies about impossible people doing impossible things.

These grapes are harvested after being frozen in the vineyard and then, while still frozen, they are pressed. They must be picked early - before 10 a.m. During both of these processes the temperature cannot exceed -8 degrees C. At this temperature (-8 degrees C) the berries will freeze as hard as marbles. While the grape is still in its frozen state, it is pressed and the water is driven out as shards of ice. This leaves a highly concentrated juice, very high in acids, sugars and aromatics.

yeah, I was quite bummed, it was BS and Nora's breakdown was a way bigger fuckup. Beside, though Nora does late '90s minimalism pretty well, she is stuck in derivative late '90s minimalism. Game over. However, from what I've seen of Vanessa's couture line on her website, the bo peep travesty did look a bit like a totally misconceived reworking of some of her own corseted designs, which themselves reminded me slightly of the Richard E Grant character in Pret a Porter (which was a pretty funny "English designer" joke). Anyhow, very disappointing outcome. Damn Austin, he has talent but no versatility - he can only do his costumey dresses and can't extend himself beyond that. Now I think I have to root for Jay- I am still in love with his Chrysler building dress.

I thought the free wine, yummy Whores Divvers served with same and the laxity in drunk-driving enforcement were worth the trip. And dinner at that culinary school near Calistoga. The spa aspect, though, turns into buzkill when you realize the mud baths probably have poopy in them. (NTTAWWT). What's more, hot steaming poopies. Particles at least. I'm just sayin.

The Chrysler building dress was the best design we've seen so far on this show. And, interestingly, I could actually envision it selling at BR. The great thing about this show is that they are all sort of freaks. It goes along with having that sort of artistic talent, I'm sure. My favorite person there now is Rob, but his BR creation was awful.
Back to spoilers:
Vanessa had an easy out to say the other woman in their group was weakest - just say she refused to contribute to the vision of the dress, which she basically did in the fabric store. If Vanessa said that, Austin might have also picked on the other woman because he was so appalled that she said he was a weak leader. Then the correct result occurs, and Nora goes home after her meltdown. Austin sobbing backstage after Vanessa was ousted was classic. They basically have to keep him around for the comedic effect of his drama.
Any guesses as to who the final three are? The LA costume designer and the woman with the long blond hair (Alessandra?) have both quietly turned in solid designs each time. Jay is solid, though I'm guessing his work product is less consistent than those two women (by that I mean he takes more risks, so his designs could be either much better or much worse on a given project). Is the 37-y-o guy named Jason? I haven't really watched his designs before this week, but this one was good.

I have no idea, but I'm betting that clicking on your link would literally set off sirens in the IT department downstairs.
So as Sidd says, let us know how it works out. We'll also divert some of the Lawtalkers Tsunami fund money for bail, just in case.

I got an answer here that I couldn't get easily from Google: "Other than icewine, no, there are no good Canadian wines."

!!!!!! I think that that kind of willy-nilly diversion of earmarked funds is morally reprehensible. Especially when that was probably just Sidd's wife's way of asking Less to fuck her.
Or your wife.
Either way, diverting earmarked disaster-relief funds -- for shame!!!

Dunno, but you better move fast since it seems three out of the four are going back to hubby (or getting rotated out of state) by next week. Kelsey's probably the ugly one.
