I remember when you did simple posts, like ebi pieces, then you got more complex thoughts going in what I thought of as your California roll period. but this latest series of riffs? I am thinking of it as Flower hand rolls- if you would offer this type posts for sale, we'd order by the plateful! Bravo!

I am embarrassed to admit this, but I've been watching Hooking Up weekly on ABC, and this guy last night said, about people you are dating, "There are yes-es, and nos and maybes... but the maybes are really just nos you're trying to convince yourself of otherwise." And you know, he's absolutely right. If it's not a yes, it's a no.

I'm sure it works the same way in the other direction. One phone call is never going to make or break anything. As long as you don't get all "Swingers" on someone's ass, no strategy makes a difference in the long run. You're either into each other, or you're not. You can't force someone's feelings; I just can't improve on what you said.

If we ever have an award for "Most Transformed"* you are the clear winner. I don't think anyone else would come close.

Did someone steal your login?

*for Good, that is. It would be quite a horse race for "Most Transformed for Evil".
2. It was absolutely beautiful advice, Sebby.

Just trying to hold on to my #2 ranking (and maybe, with time, supplant the #1 seed, if I may be so bold).

A healthy respect for civil disobedience and youthful exuburance.

Yes, it was a bold strategic move that looks to have worked. For now. As for #1, who knows, as my grammy hall once told me, this too shall pass.

Betting Question

What do you all think:

Should I take the over or the under on a dude's ability to eat 50 donut holes in 10 minutes? I'm thinking that's damn near impossible.

Exactly. It's just what Sebby said, but w/out the bloviation.

Those little things? No, it's not. Take the over.

Although this answer could change depending upon various factors like (1) is he betting on himself? (2) when is he doing it (will he have eaten beforehand)? (3) does he have to keep them down for a set time period? (this caused a dispute in a similar contest/dare in college)

Estimate how many donut holes make up a donut. 7? 10? Could someone eat 7 donuts in 10 minutes? 5?

I could eat 5. Probably not 7.

I ate 10 hot dogs at a Cubs game once. On a bet, of course.

Apropos of nothing, I was the guy in court who Sebby would have made fun of today. I came into the office wearing khakis and a short-sleeve shirt (golf shirt), brown belt and brown shoes...and was immediately told that I needed to cover something for a partner. Well, the suit that is normally hanging on my door was being cleaned. I only had a grey suit jacket, a white dress shirt and a tie hanging on my door. This line from Pulp Fiction properly describes how I looked in court:

The Wolf: You guys look like... What do they look like, Jimmie?
Jimmie: Dorks. They look like a couple of dorks.
