Fuck Macy's. That POS second-rate store replaced our beloved Marshall Fields. I wouldn't mind that much if Macy's didn't sell completely worthless, lesser-quality crap. But they do.

I fucking despise Macy's and there are some half assed brands I'd buy from there, maybe Jones of NY or Kasper ASL which looks like ass on me, or Rena Rowan but damn. The chaos and bargain bin and lack of service gets on my last strung out caffeinated nerve. I just think of Macy's as shitty Sag Harbor double knit polyester wash and wear and I skeeve. or over perfumed lancome products. rash. I tell you.
I'd pay the extra coin at Ann Taylor just for the lack of a mind fuck from that place.

I have never found anything at Ann Taylor that I liked. But I will not totally bash it, because my sister once found a dress there that looked very hotttt indeed on her.

Does anyone shop in department stores anymore? The last time I set foot in one was Marshall Fields in Chicago last year, and that was mainly because I'd heard about the Macys thing and wanted to see the original before it switched over. I will say that I was suitably impressed with Marshall Fields.
But before that, I think it'd been three years since I'd been in a department store, and that was mainly because we finally got a Nordstroms down here and I wanted to see if the shoe department was as good as reputed.

PLUS they play incredibly loud, really bad music that is different in every department, and they apparently believe that the invisible Les-Nessman walls around each department make all the music distinguishable and enjoyable. And don't even get me STARTED on the eau de stinque OR the temperature.
I have boycotted the fucking place for years, but a certain special someone's birthday just caused me to lose all sense temporarily. I have since recovered and ordered a carrot cake from the same baker that made my wedding cake.

The wife occasionally buys work clothes there, which is fine w/me, b/c it's pretty damn inexpensive.
