Recently my digital cable changed, in ways I don't understand, but I now have a zillion additional channels -- including a few different MTV variants, some that actually show music videos at normal hours. It's like I'm back in high school.

Apropos of Soriano, why in god's name is he STILL batting lead-off? Torre is generally a good manager, but this decision all year has driven me crazy. His OBP isn't that great and he hit 38 HRs! What a waste of HRs. He could have driven in 130. Throw Jeter up top and bat Soriano 2nd and the Yankees score more...

This probably wouldn't change the fact that he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn right now, but nevertheless...

A whiff is when you post a response to someone's joke by merely restating the general point of their post without adding something funnier or more interesting.

So, if I posted saying "Paigow is missing all of this", jokingly alluding to her love of the ignore list function, and you responded
"well, she does have us all on ignore", that would be a whiff.

That would be ideal. However, my cable operator continues to add only kid's channels or variants of those channels which appeal primarily to the female of the species. Those fuckers.
