Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

(Maybe I misunderstood you -- like the time I thought you meant Patch Adams was a favorite movie of yours.)
PS -- What is the genesis of TCB? I thought it was an acronym for "Checking the Box" or some such thing -- but then shouldn't it be "CTB"? Is this in the FAQ? That was a long damned time ago -- I remember the office I was sitting in when that term was coined, and it was 3 offices, and at least 6 or 7 years ago (is that possible?!?)

TCB is take care of bidness, which ultimately leads to checking the box (at least if you do it right). I actually gave birth to CTB'ing in a combo Tax Hottie flirting/ Christie Brinkley flame war about 4 years ago. So, I guess you'd say...
I invented that.

I was talking to a woman last night who went to one of those Earl Schieb tanning places. She bent over during her session and came out with a tanned asscrack. I cannot think of how that could be used in a movie.

I can verify this.
Probably one of your better contributions to the FB. We need to revive it.

If yours was a whiff, console yourself with the thought that my response was ALMOST "WordPerfect".

What kind of movie?
"Tap that Tan Asscrack"?
"Amy Tan's Asscrack: All Asian DPing"?
Edited to add that Amy Tan's movie should obviously be "The Joy Fuck Club"...

The flame war?
Cuz I thought TCB (the acronym, not the act) was brought to the FB by pepper.
ETA: STP and reading comprehension. Wonk was claiming to the invention of CTB. I don't remember when that came into our lexicon. He may be right.

How about The Caramel Coated Chocolate Submarine? (Wasn't it Gwinky who said the spray-on stuff was some sugar-based thing? I'm pretty sure it was, because I spent the next few hours wondering if it imprved her Maple flavor, or made her too sweet.)

The expression first popped-up (uh, sorry) on my radar screen during pepper's confession of engaging in a little bit of self-love in her office. I don't think that that could have been seven years ago. Maybe four.
|
I think Aretha Franklin used it a bit earlier, in "Respect". Though I'm sure she couldn't have meant it that way.

TCB was brought by Pepper. I invented Checking the Box, or CTB'ing, which is the aim of a TCB'er. Geez, does MR have to draw you one of his faamous stick figures?

As used by Aretha in "Respect" it was an exhortation to her man to take care of her business. Which is really far more entertaining than Pepper's version, but still results in CTB'ing (if done correctly).

Though it's nice to know she was keeping her options open, if her man couldn't get it together. Consider all the crap Cindy Lauper got for "She Bop" in the 80s, you'd think there'd have been more of a fuss raised at the time...

For this subject, I'd really rather he didn't.
