I Am NOT The Dryer Thread

Faulkner,
You are correct. My post would benefit from some editing. But really, how long did it take you to read it in its current form?
Odd that you chose to make your complaint against a response to a post complaining about a freakish senior lateral who values plastic paper clips over substance.
How's the new job? You should be careful to make a good impression on your new co-workers. They may turn on you.

I see a tortoise on the path.
I pick him up, he pees on me.
I put him down, he does it again.
Damn it!

If it's non-substantive, redirect to that person's secretary. The "Is it done yet" question can be deflected with a "after x, y, z and q are done" answer. A pointed reminder that you're doing them a favor is definitely appropriate and you need to nip this in the bud.

Mmmmm, bud.

(it's Friday afternoon, I'm closing in on vacation, most of stumptown is at the Kerry rally I can see from my window; shitting in Atticus's bed would beat the hell out of working right now).

EBay Buys 25 Percent Stake in Craigslist

9 minutes ago Add Technology - AP to My Yahoo!

By MAY WONG, AP Technology Writer

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Online auctioneer eBay Inc. said Friday it purchased a 25 percent stake in craigslist, a popular online network of classified ads and forums.

Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed. The stake was purchased from a former craigslist employee who first contacted eBay with the proposed sale, craigslist officials said.

Agreed. Identify the appropriate resources for the task obviously, the new jerk doesn't know what they are. Don't take the project, repsond with "you know Jill in Word Processing can take care of that for you, why don't you call her." Most importantly, whenever you do provide them with a project, use metal paper clips.

Thanks to all of you for your advice.
Our group works as a team and usually we will all pitch in if something needs to get done in a hurry. This person, however, needs to learn what teamwork means. sfail is right about the parnter not wanting to hear the gripes of the team members about the new person - who seemed relatively pleasant during the interview, but even then gave off a slight snobby vibe.

I have not yet finished the project, I don't intend to. I'm going to going into the office and say I don't have time for this. Thank you for the strength to do this without compromising the "team."

I am a lurker not a poster, so I do not know if it is my place to point this out, but, word to the wise, there is no "I" in "team".

Aw, come on in, the water's fine. Just don't sit next to Atticus, he's a little grabby after a few cocktails.

And suddenly he'll grab you, and he'll throw you in a corner, and he'll say do you know that "if" is the middle word in "life"?

Watch out, those goddamn monkeys bite, I'll tell ya.
