What about that scene where he wants to kill himself? And what about the one where all the people bring money to the house to save him from the wrath of the bank examiners? And at the end, the little girl says "every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings," while Donna Reed, idealized mother to top all idealized mothers, looks on, beatifically?
You know what really makes me cry? The scene on the roof with Rolf in The Sound of Music. When he was in the gazebo with Liesl, he promised that he-eed, take ca-are, of herrrrr, and now he's ready to turn the whole musical, patriotic family in to the marauding Nazis. The heartbreak!

You have not educated your children properly. That they do not know Pussy Galore is a shame.
I hated Pierce Brosnan - all I could think of when I saw him is Remington Steele. Of course the worse without question is Timothy Dalton.

If it makes you feel any better, every time I'm mean to NFH an angel gets its wings.

"Jenny, Jenny, don't you see? God made me for the mission field, and I will serve Him there. But He also made me fast, and when I run, I feel his pleasure."
When you're mean to NFH, you feel God's pleasure.

Damn, girl; you're good. OK, I amend my statement to say that I didn't remember Honey being so zaftig. (of course, I didn't remember Honey at all, but that's really beside the point, isn't it?)

So the news says this usurper is only the second Englishman to play BondJamesBond.
As if Whales (welsh?) and Scotland (Scottish) "men" are not English men!

Dude. The Captain *yelled at him* about giving him the Nazi salute, dissing him in front of his babe. Can you blame him?
Apropos of nothing, Captain von Trapp may have been a hero, but he was Not Bright. Evidence: (a) the Baroness was much hotter than the would-be nun; (b) He lives in the middle of the Alps, yet is a naval officer. WTF?

Well, that explains their fashion sense, but I did spend gobs of energy and sound trying to explain how there is only one real Bond, and how all of these subsequent metrosexual fops with pretty hair shouldn't even be in the same room with Connery much less aspiring to replace him.
I tell them that the new dandies are like the Santa's Helpers that were in the stores at Christmas. Not the real Bond, but stand-ins, 'cuz he can't be everywhere.
But where I lose them is in the special effects. The Connery-era stuff just can't match the new crop, and so they like the new better.

Just broke the Nazi rule. And who can forget the final scene with Tod Langdon playing a handicapable man fighting corruption in "Rolling Tall"?
Scott (S): [on a podium behind a lectern and a microphone] Now I'm not against helping the handicapped. It's just that I'm tired of lining up for a restaurant on a slant. Okay. So we take down all the wheelchair-accessible ramps and replace them with large bumps. Large bumps!
People in room: [chanting] Large bumps!
Scott (S): Thanks kids.
Woman: [in a wheelchair at the back of the room next to Mark who is also in a wheelchair and holds a little girl on his lap] BASTARDS!
Mark (TL): No! No. Think! Alright. I wanna say something! Large bumps?!? I mean if you put large bumps on the sidewalks and streets of this city you're condemning every handicapped person into this town, man! And for what? SO THE LOCAL BUMP MANUFACTURER CAN MAKE MORE MONEY?! Well if that's your idea of AMERICA then count me out. I'm not the one that's handicapped. YOU'RE the ones that are handicapped... [pointing to his heart] IN HERE!
