I had never run more than 12 miles (though I did that a lot), and was pretty scared about not finishing. It wasn't a blistering speed time or anything, but I finished.
Other than childbirth, that was the hardest physical thing I've ever done. My legs hurt today like never before. I don't know how all you people do those endurance races. Damn.

Congratulations!! That's so very, very awesome!

GWNC is a little more subtle than that.

I always enjoy attending a party with a big sign screaming "CONGRADS!" across the garage door.

At least the convicts you hang out with are attempting to better themselves . . .

Nice work. For the next few days, you'll ask yourself why you decided to do it. By the end of the week, you'll be planning for the next one.

Cream Pies - yes, indeedy!
Boston Marathon -- maybe if I were in a geriatric age group, my time would qualify me!

Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
Saw it on Friday.
Hoffman is outstanding. Ethan Hawke is pretty good, but not as good as everyone else. Albert Finney is...Albert Finney (very good). Marisa Tomei is naked (topless) half the time and looks fantastic. And not fantastic for a 43-yr old - fantastic for any age. Her body is nearly perfect.
I didn't quite like it as much as the papers, but it was good. I thought there were some flaws in the story, but not in the acting. I won't provide any more info so as not to spoil it, but it's worth seeing.

Yes. But not my name - I figured people wouldn't know how to pronounce it. But it was good advice.
I went over to the start with some friends, and one girl had a friend there who is the youngest American to finish a marathon on each of the seven continents (including Antarctica).
He's from MN, natch.

The most disturbing one I saw at Twin Cities was "Run Like Your Ethiopian Lisa!"
Seriously.
My favorite one was held up by my sister and her four kids that said "We <3 ABBA!"

My Ethiopian Lisa is pretty sluggish. I guess people from MN have faster ones.

Why didn't you run longer than 12 before the race?

I admit, I mispronounce your name every time I say it.
What did your tee shirt say?
