I hooked up with a close friend of 12 years with whom I had never previously done anything with. We've talked. We're cool. But we are going to Cuba together in January. The issue is that, normally, sex to her is tied up with a shitload of baggage about love and children, blah, blah, blah. So, do I book rooms with one queen or two twins?

I am going to try to be helpful. Unless you are absolutely sure that she is not going to confuse love/children blah blah blah with sex in your circumstances, you should book separate rooms. Twin beds does not get you there. You just can't have sex with her unless you want to deal with all the accompanying crap. If that's the way she thinks, that is the way she thinks. I don't think she'll change. You know this already.

Less, January is over 3 months off. You'll know by January if you'll be sleeping together or just travelling together. Book two rooms, but don't mention it. You can drop one in December if you're sleeping together in SF.

Isn't Cuba really inexpensive? Even if you sleeping together keeping 2 rooms will put variety back in your sex life.
