Dear Hank,
You guys have a fairly decent team this year. It's just that you've played 2 really tough games. Don't give up, it's early and you'll have easier games later on.

Spinach update

Dear Sidd,
It's not just bagged spinach anymore. It's all spinach. Spinach is being yanked off of restaurant menus faster than you can say (insert something derogatory here, I'm just too tired).
Which doesn't make sense, because if you cook the food, it kills that bacteria. I guess it's just another TSA type of knee-jerk response to a situation.

There is half of a delicious spanokopita sitting in my fridge. I'm going to eat the rest of it, dammit.

The Lions have never been good in my entire life, so we look to things other than wins for enjoyment.

Like about 3 coaches ago, they hired Bobby Ross. He had taken a team to the Super Bowl, must know what he's doing, right? Well, my favorite Lion's moment happened in, I believe, his third year. the Lions had just fucked up another game, this time with stupid penalties, and bad decisions. Coach Ross was asked about some bonehead play someone had made:
I don't know why he did that, we don't coach that, I can tell you that." (when someone screws up at my firm back then we'd say "the GPs don't coach that.")

Within a year he had resigned.

Favorite moment this season happened in Game 1- at home- our fans are booing our new great savior Quarterback in his first game. Of course, we all knew we would be booing him someday, but the first game is a record.

Blohan

So Blohan fractures her wrist at the Milk Studios in NY.
"There's a pending investigation" into the accident, after Lohan claimed Milk Studios didn't take proper measures to prevent slips on the slick ground.
Is Milk Studios responsible for a person who spills their fifth vodka and tonic on the floor and then slips on it?

Good for you. Fuck you e-coli.

Seriously, all of the steak houses in the area have replaced the creamed spinach with something else, like steamed green beans. The spinach salads I understand, but whatever.

from the Lions? don't know.

Someone from ESPN picked them to win their. Local talk radio made the quiz "which story exhibits more insanity: ESPN picks Lions to win division, or Lions DL coach caught drunk driving naked?"

[Lions anecdotes]
The college corollary happened this week during the Clemson/FSU Bowden Bowl. Clemson pretty much dominated but seemed insistent on giving the game away in the first half.

* PAT attempt by Clemson, blocked, run back for 2 pt conversation for FSU.

* Field goal attempt by Clemson, blocked, run back for touchdown by FSU.

Reporter caught the younger Bowden at halftime, and couldn't even complete the question about CU's abysmal special teams, and Bowden interrupted, saying "Nope, I'm not doing that anymore. We're not kicking again."

And they didn't. Still won.

Hey, I was walking with Les this afternoon - were you that chick Les thought looked astoundingly like a young, asian Phyllis Diller? The resemblance was uncanny. Who does your hair?
